deanrobi 2
Last year we took a break from boarding and took a train trip to Otaru & Sapporro, this year we are spending longer in Niseko and thought we might also jump on the train and go the other way this time, say down to Oshamanbe on the coast. Whats it like down that way? is there any where else that is recommended to see, by train
Go Native 70
Whatever you do don't go to Oshamanbe if you actually want to do anything. There really is nothing there, practically a ghost town. You can change trains there though and head on down to Hakodate which is a very nice city with plenty of history and sights.
deanrobi 2
Thanks for the warning GN, how long, roughly would the train trip to Hakodate take?
Go Native 70
Around 3 hours depending on the connection at Oshamanbe. The night view from Mt Hakodate is quite spectacular.
