HongKong 0
Hi We are going to stay at NASPA New Otani during Christmas. Is Yuzawa a town with many restaurants or mainly ski resorts? As it's Christmas time, we would like to stay away from hotel's standard offer and look for some local flavors. Thanks. HK
SKI 15
NASPA is about 1km from the main road of Yuzawa - which has a fair few restaurants and bars. They will take you by bus into town if you don't want to talk it (well, I'm pretty sure they do anyway). That hotel is pretty high standard so I'm sure checking out what they have would not be an unpleasant experience!
grungy-gonads 54
It's a town with a few main roads (the main "entertainment" one on the west side of the station and a few other roads on the east side). I recommend Ninjin near the ropeway for a really good hirekatsu teishoku. In fact you can see the East Exit side from this webcam http://www.snowjapan.com/e/daily/webcam/niigata/yuzawa-town-webcam.html lots of shuttle buses shunting around the town and to the resorts. There's quite a few resorts within 10-15 mins of the station.

grungy-gonads 54
Yes if you go to Yuzawa, you must take a photo of the famous phone booth and post here. OK? http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/291212/The_Telephone_Booth_Watch_08_0.html
HongKong 0
Thanks all for your info. Seems like a pretty quiet town. Will check out.
