Kind of a photo question here. For all the photo dudes and dudettes on here, what software are you using? I have got a new pc here and it has both Elements (6) and Lightroom on it. (Both full versions). I'm still trying to work out which to invest the time in to use.

I'd be keen to hear thoughts from those using both as a back up to the web search I'm doing as well.

Cheers

Can't comment on Lightroom because I've never used it.

Photoshop Elements is excellent. It is a simplified version of Photoshop, is useful training if you ever want to move up. It lacks most of the "creative" filters, but they are fairly specialised. For standard photo enhancement it is fine. It has excellent selection tools, and also allows you to use layers. Layers are the most powerful tools in Photoshop.

Elements is also very good for organising images and building galleries, although I use Thumbsplus for that.

Thank you soubriquet.

I have been playing around with both the last few days. Learning new software sure does take time (especially when working in a foreign language!!)

More good for the workflow of photographers. Isn't it actually made for photographers? I think people use it for organisation, and Photoshop for a few adjustment things that Lightroom can't do, so both together.
