francois 0
Hi all, I'll be in Japan from this Sunday for a 2 weeks holiday. We're planning to go either backcountry skiing or snowshoeing over two days... I guess either we'll hire a guide and go skiing, or we'll go snowshoeing and camp somewhere. As all of us are French, and only one of my friend ever been to Japan, I have a few questions regarding how mountaineering "works" in Japan... 1/ Anyone got an idea where we can find rental beacons? I read in on this forum that evergreen can provide some, but would they rent them if we don't hire a guide as well? 2/ Is there any specific regulation regarding in-the-wild camping? I imagine that, as everywhere else, one is not allowed to dump, or to dig the ground and so on... which I deeply agree with... Is there any other thing to know? 3/ Where can I find accurate, local, and english weather forecast? 4/ Do you have any guiding company to "advertise" or to avoid? I havn't said anything about where we wanted to go, because we havn't decided yet... and that will also depend on the weahter. I do welcome opinions on this as well! Regards, Francois

francois 0
Thanks, I actually saw one of Canyons' outing pictures a few days ago. It did look nice, I never understood they were a company though...
