Kraut_in_HongKong 0
Very sad..... A US snowboarder went head first into deep powder and suffocated under the snow. Location was Mt. Hood, Oregon. http://www.kptv.com/news/14935271/detail.html
SirJibAlot 0
Kraut, Thanks for the detail, my link was fairly lame - I just so happened across the story on the weather channel. Sad indeed....
Kraut_in_HongKong 0
SirJibAlot Thanks about that news. I wasn't really aware of that danger. I once fall into 1m deep powder and it got dark above my head, but easy to get up. It's good to keep that danger in mind.
SirJibAlot 0
Thanks coldcat, but basically it says - if you fall in....sayonara, dude.
SerreChe 2
By the way, was told that a 70 yo skier fell in a tree hole at Kagura in the BC a couple of weeks ago & had to be rescued. He was safe thankfully in the end. Seems the rescuers went looking for him, followed his tracks until they 'disappeared'. Went to check where his tracks disappeared and found him upside-down in the well. Have not heard or seen other news on this topic anywhere.
