contender 0
Hi, im going to stay in Hakuba for three months and I'm thinking of picking up some camera gear to use on the ski slopes as well. Is there any good shops in Nagano or any good Japanese web shops? I've looked at Yodobashi but the Japanese is pretty hard for me to understand. How much will be added in taxes and customs if I buy from the U.S, below 10%? Please help me. Thank you / contender
thursday 1
what are you looking for? obvisously, older cameras will be cheaper. There are just hundreds of models to choose from. Pic a spec and do some compares.
thursday 1
you can also get the 5% sales tax back depending on the store's minimum spend policy.

Kraut_in_HongKong 0
Kakaku is a very good starting point to check prices. I don't know Japanese, but have no problems to understand that site. But I learned the "normal" Akihabara price is much higher then the low Kakaku prices. So it really makes sense to check Kakaku and really go to one of those shops (which are usually small and hard to find). Still, I don't know Japanese and could find them. I am not sure about mailorder.
contender 0
Thanks for the reply. Im thinking about the Canon HV20 HDV-camera and maybe a Canon ST-E2 wireless flash transmitter. And maybe some canon lenses.
