rubix 0
I have been reading the ANA site and cant seem to find anything about sport baggage. Anyone have any experience flying with ANA and carring snowboard equipment, Here is the site regarding baggage. http://www.ana.co.jp/eng/dms/others/yakkan/c2_3_hd.html My main bag is 19kg and my snowboard kit is about the same. tsondaboy 0
I ve done it, you just have to check them in at a different counter at the airport. Try to fit some of your staff in the snowboard bag and make your the other one lighter so that you can take it with you in the cabin.
rubix 0
My other bag is a full backpack so i doubt i will be able to take it in the cabin if thats what you mean. With my international flight they have a allowance for sports equipment of 20kgs- Maybe I will have to courier my snowboard gear from tokyo to hirafu
tsondaboy 0
Courier takes only around 1600 to ship your staff anywhere in Japan.
rubix 0
thanks for the information - I would much prefer to take my gear with me as i would hate for anything to happen with it - but if it is going to cost more than 15-20000 in additional baggage charges then it will be a risk i will have to take. tsondaboy 0
PS: all the courier companies (kuroneko yamato, pelican bin, etc) have a branch inside the airport. Just take all your lugage with you at the airport and if the guys at the checkin give you trouble, you can send them to tokyo straight from the airport.

indosnm 0
Never had a problem with them. they seem ot expect winter sports gear during the winter months and are pretty good. Rubix, If you are worried, do the courier thing first... You have no idea of how damn efficient the system is here.
