Hi kanji-fans

Someone back home has asked me what the following kanji means:

佇む

I've never seen it before and tried some online dictionaries but they weren't much help. Anyone able to help at all?

Thanks

When we say "Tatazumu", we use it for the cases in which the subject (person) does not do anything special. Just seeing something around or standing there without moving any etc. Sometimes some sentimental or emotional feelings included.

E.g

She was standing there by seeing the scenery around to forget her dad died.

I think we use "tatazumu" for this kind of case above.

Probabaly we don't say "tatazumu" if the person look at this and that around with curious eyes.
