  1. surfarthur, What is the cost of a regular wettie? I looked those ones up and they were a bit exxy. No drama if you are a surfer and want to keep safe I suppose, but a bit out of my price range for a Chrissy pressie for a friend.
  2. What an awful thing Mantas. Every time I hear about another attack down there I worry a little more, I have a friend that moved to the area for her son to pursue a surfing career, he is out there every day. I'm not a big 'kill the sharks' fan, but it does seem the attacks are increasing... Maybe roll these out... http://worldwidenews003.blogspot.com.au/2013/07/shark-repellent-wetsuits-launched.html In fact maybe I should get my little mate one for Christmas...
  3. Not quite sausages, prosthetic fingers for ex-Yakusa wishing to shake off the identifying marks and move on with their lives.
  4. What kind of age are we talking? My friends children (now 14 and 12) have been training for years on skis, but that was definitely scouted. They got Salomon sponsorship and the training camps were offered up from there. They do the NZ Winter, then off to Colorado for Dec/Jan. But they are aiming at competitions...things like World Champs and Olympics. Is this the kind of thing he wants or is he more thinking about earning the dollars off of appearing in board movies? Then there is the short course FYVE Camps in Colorado and Niseko... a week there and the guys would be able to tell
  5. Hmmm... I wasn't quite a newbie, but definitely not bumps worthy when I found myself smack bang in there! Visibility was poor, I thought I was up for anything...
  6. Love that little vid of Boy in Japan, what little bloke doesn't love to pick his pups nose Chris, When she was 2 weeks old she was 'found' with a shattered leg in the kennel with her Mum and litter mates. It is professional opinion that the only way it could have happened was if a human stepped on her. There are quite a few staff at the kennels, no one owned up, but that is what we think happened. First repair attempt was a cast and back in with her litter, but at 6 weeks it was clear that wasn't working at all, so she came to live with us and 'Operation Save Star' commenced.
  7. Nah, what would've ruined me was putting her down. Three Vets said that was our only option, and that a tripod doggie with a front leg amputation in a Greyhound would be cruel. Finally found a guy willing to try. She needed multiple surgeries and adjustments to the external fixation device, and 4 hourly medication day and night. She was tiny, and slept in my bed curled up against my chest for weeks. It was like having a newborn again. So, I am kinda attached to her.
  8. Definitely no Border Cross there 100% We bred her from our own bitch, with a DNA verified frozen sample. Purebred greyhounds in Australia are now DNA fingerprinted along with ear branded. She's all Grey She looks a bit different to her litter mates though. I blame the trauma and drugs when she was growing.
  9. Do they not already provide free wine and thin savoury wafers? Albeit a stingy amount?
  10. Thanks Big Chris, They are nutters when they get wound up. Even Star (you can see her damaged leg in the top picture) totally cuts sick. Joanne, the old brindle girl, is Stars grandmother. Star lay with Joanne all day while her core temperature stabilised.
  11. of course But I'm sure you don't want pic's of my dog on your server
  12. Thanks SJDavid. Couldn't for the life of me work out what I was doing wrong Must be getting old.
  13. A few weeks ago the old brindle girl fell in the pool and very nearly drowned. She is getting very old, and it was pretty cold over night. I dragged her out of the water at 4am, but I am not sure how long she was in there. The little black girl, alerted us to her being in the pool - barked constantly until will woke up. And then she wouldn't leave her side. fffaarrrkkkk... it IS user error. why on earth is it doing it sometimes and not others???? [/img]
  14. oh you're funny Pies. I did try all of those options. lets try one more time, just for the hell of it. (woohoo...worked that time!!! seriously, I've posted hundreds of photo's online over the years, tried everything yesterday and gave up. Must have been some gliche somewhere)
  15. Most places that I rent from nowadays (when and IF I rent) have two options - basic board and bindings/skis, poles and boots OR demo board and bindings/skis, poles and boots. IMHO the demo stuff is worth renting, but if you are renting for any considerable period of time you are better off buying it. It is worth renting for convenience (if you are holidaying and adding just a day or so on snow to an off snow holiday then it makes sense to hire and not lug your gear), or to demo different gear. Personally when I am renting I turn it into a demo week anyway - then I am not so annoyed at th
  16. Thanks Big Chris. They were pretty cute. But I couldn't be stuffed uploading them anywhere when they are already on my FB account. Now...if they were snow pic's I might actually make the effort
  17. We have three. All Greyhounds. The youngest *Star* just loves attention. She has a dodgy left front leg that was shattered as a tiny puppy and needed lots and lots of surgeries. She is hobbling around today, after too much running yesterday. (wont take my photo's..nevermind)
  18. Seriously... Could they not wait until AFTER the sausage frying?
  19. Roma is the term used for a gypsy. Romany gypsy, romany ethnicity, travellers...
  20. is the sadface due to abuse of your email account or sadness at not being able to take advantage of every single deal
  21. I can understand basing yourself somewhere, allows you to settle. But I'm with you - I'd have to use it as a base and head out on adventures on a fairly regular basis.
  22. I didn't mean a whole season lapping the one resort. I meant that my experience was limited, and that I think if I had done more time (like a season, or regular visits over a few years) 47/Goryu would be my fave averaged over all conditions.
  23. I think if I spent a season the answer would be 47/Goryu. But due to the conditions and days that I had in my short two trips I'd have to say its a toss up between Iwatake and Cortina. On both occasions there was a lot shut because of so much snow and visibility was not awesome, but the woohoo factor was off the charts. Without the described conditions I think 47/Goryu will have more to offer interest wise.
