I'm planning to be on the slopes most mornings. Still waiting on lottery results as to where. I'm a beginner, but with a little practice should be able to do OK.
I'm hoping to cut through the back of the hanagoyomi hotel (closed) and then head down to Happo, but will be driving to other places. If we're heading in the same direction I'll give you a ride, but I need to be back by noon to work in the afternoon (unless it's really good out)

Almost all the banks in Tokyo will give you a cash card that doubles as a debit card. All you need to do is open an account. I've got several adn I didn't have to apply or anything. You just get the card with the account.

2. All Nagano Pass (200 only )
3. Happo/Shiga Kogen (1000 only)
Does anyone know if the Happo/Shiga Kogen deal sells out, or this this the first year they have limited it to 1,000?
If this fails it looks like it'll be Goryu/47. Prob is you don't know the results until after the Goyu/47 hayawari deal ends.

I don't think you need a minimum balance or anything, just enough funds to cover the transaction.

They've been trying to outlaw the word offically for years now.
We got a list of words not to use in the classroom about 10 years ago. Sure enough "Gaijin" was on the list. Trouble was there were about 300 words on the list and some were just plain silly.
One that sticks out was you are not supposed to say "rentogen" it has to be "X-sen".
Personally I can't see much of a difference btwn Gaijin and Gaikokujin. O11 is right in that it is the usage.
More of a concern the the institutional racism that dogs everyone who has set up shop here long term. Anyone in a mixed marraige will know what I'm talking about. (Get's worse when you have kids)

One thing Slow. True Oyaji's won't take you to a fancy French restaurant. Oyaji's are IZAKAYA men all the way, or maybe a good Nabe in Winter.
Married Men who take you to a fancy restaurant don't qualify as Oyaji. There's another name for it. Sleezeball I think.
