Oh yeah... You guys were right- I went to Tsugaike anyway and just stayed mostly inbounds for the weekend cuz there was way too much fresh, it wsa blowing like crazy up high, and the layers were not stable at all... Oh well, it was still an awesome weekend with knee deep runs all day long! I couldn't figure out where the crowds were- that was a holiday weekend, wasn't it? Hi All! Super-short notice I know, but anyone interested in some Back Country tomorrow or Monday in the Hakuba / Tsugaike area? I'm not too familiar with the area but did one cool moderate climb last year to the peak of Norikkura (sp?) which was pretty cool. There's a fair amount of folks climbing that route and it's also near where the helicopter drops people off, so I could do it by myself, but it's always better to go with friends!
