  1. Went to Mizuho yesterday snobee. Last week only the top of the mountain was white, the valley side was completely closed and it was very icy. Yesterday was a different story. The valley side was open (with a few rocky areas, but generally reasonably good) and the were small powder stashes (heavy-ish) all over the place. If this snow keeps up out there the next few days like it is forecast, then there whould be a decent base there for the season
  2. I did the free tour too about 5 years ago Indo. Exactly as Ger described. Good to get out of the airport, but nothing really amazing. On a different trip/stopover I took a wander through China town and the Indian area. Was interesting, but much less sterilized than where the tour takes you. I have also heard that the zoo is pretty amazing. We are definitely gonna be checking that out when we are there in 3 months! When is your parole Indo?

But they didn't took it, strange, or? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4627178.stm Oh come on! Theatrics at its best! Is an embassy set up for research? (assuming they even wanted to take the bait from the Greenies!
  4. I agree Mantas. The issue is whether stock are there for sustainable hunting. None of the other BS is relevant.
  5. pretty damn sweet eh! I love that shot too Indo
  6. Yes, that does sound like a ridiculous claim!
  7. The trees aren't really there. There is just a high probability that they are there.
  8. That really is a bit oversimplified Subzero. They sell it because that is, in fact, what they have always done with every part of the whale over the centuries that they have been fishing them for whatever uses. Every last little bit of the animal was used, right down to the bones, for various uses including traditional musical instruments. Unlike, all the commercial whaling nations that only took the blubber and more or less threw away the rest. What you just said is another classic example of the oversimplification that the media loves to spurt, and people swallow whole! By the way, just beca
  9. Great isn't it! Who is worse? He for seeing (possibly) many different pros? Or she for selling herself to many different men, but supplementing the family income?
  10. Well I guess it's what you make of it. The isolation doesn't bother me at all. I just don't even notice it. I'm ready to get back there after a long haul here, and it should be great. But anyway, back on topic, If not for the cold, I might choose Melbourne over Adelaide. Although I do love SA.
  11. I agree Like it or not, the protesters are just making themselves look bad and acting illegally.
  12. When you are there it doesn't really feel all that isolated though. Long summers yes, but I like that
  13. or someones bum! Samui kitsune, any of us could have come up with that!
  14. nice one Fjef! But shit! That is scary ewok! Glad you are ok though!
  15. aaaaah! That haisha! Kanji would have helped! That sucks. You OK? I take it it was the other persons fault?
  16. They were years ago after overfishing for the blubber. Now the stocks have somewhat recovered, and that is really what should be the center of debate here, not how cute, cuddly or beautiful they are.
  17. I don't trust the research either soub, but they do it for research purposes, not as a cover for something else. The results may be useless and dodgy, but that again is a different matter. And yeah, surely other research to counter the arguments could be funded and carried out by those with the money.
