Just cloudy here.
Wonder how much of this rain/wind we'll be getting the next two days.

Is there some special Japanese for that "special winter brew", Tubby?
Not that I am short of beer at the moment!
-
Typical.
Dull and a bit wet this Saturday morning.
-
But equally surely booked up since ages ago.
-
There'll surely be more penthouse suites this year.
-
Hazy bright morning. Ah Friday already.

Kawaba in Gunma, about 25 minutes or so from Numata IC on the Kanetsu.
It's one of the places I'm going to this coming season. Really liked it when I went before.

That would probably have been difficult if they hadn't done it in advance, like at least a few months - and probably more!

Well yes I agree, but were the helmets that news announcers in the tv studios wore effective during all the reporting for the major earthquake in Tohoku?
No, but they did it (and looked rather silly at the same time as well).
That's sort of my point.

Yuzawa town in Niigata and neighbouring Minamiuonuma

Lots of places within easy reach of each other.
80 mins by Shinkansen from Tokyo and 2 hours or so by car.
There's always the resorts in Minakami as well not as far out, but they really need a car to get round:

Wonder if people will start trekking wearing helmets?

Bit windy out there now but none of the rain as yet.

No need to resort to snappy comments just because you haven't been!!

A coffee fan from Texas has spent more than $100,000 visiting 11,733 Starbucks across six different continents, although he admits he wouldn’t recommend the coffee.
Winter, who has legally changed his name from Rafael Lozano, came up with the idea while sitting at a Starbucks in Plano, Texas, in 1997.
"My original motive was simply to accomplish something unique. However, since that time, I have discovered many joys in the traveling, the photography and the puzzle-like challenge of my mission," he states on his website.
But while he’s enjoyed the experience, he prefers to visit independent outlets in his downtime. "I respect Starbucks for its business sense, customer service and amenities including clean bathrooms and WiFi," he told The Telegraph. "But unless I am checking a new store off my list, I would not go there for the coffee."

Cue some urgency!

Nice morning here.

Yes it's odd how they can continually release new products that almost no-one likes and get bad reviews.... then go on and do the same, and people still buy them!
-
Noooo! I want lovely autumn colours!
-
Is that cloud or fog out there this morning? Can't see the mountains.
-
Can you make it again and send some up here please.
-
Sunny overhead but quite a lot of cloud around too.
-
And I was considering going as well!
I think I might not now.
-
I enjoyed that one too.

Thanks Tubby, rather uninspiring design.
I like design stuff.
