Furano and Kiroro are much smaller and have limited off piste options. They are not really resorts you'd want to spend much more than a few days at. Just a note though, if you want to come to Niseko around New Years then you better get it booked real soon. The xmas/new year per

i posted a question about this in another thread, but have forgotten which thread, oops. Anyway, what is the story with the Shinkansen and taking your board etc? Do they allow you to take it, if so where do you store it? I've only been on a Shink once and I can't recall seeing many "board-size" places to store my board cheers -
My bro was a ski and board instructor, he went to Tahoe 1 year on holiday and bought a couple of boards (The US is way cheaper then the UK), i saw a couple of films on TV with snowboarders thot it looked cool and I wanted a piece of it. Convinced him to take me and a couple mates up the mountains where he gave us some pointers and let us get on with it!! Awesome, I love boarding, I'm still not that good but I can get down the mountain without falling....usually!! Last year i learned to ski as part of my job, which was pretty cool. Skiing is fun but I prefer boarding. Also had a try with snow

I want to travel to one of these islands this August but have heard that they get booked up pretty quickly. I've tried online at the usual websites but none seem to cater for travel to these islands, anyone any idea which Travel agent to use or contact numbers for ferry company and Hotels?

I'm looking at a trip for over New Year, I have never been to Hokkaido before and am a mid-level boarder. If the chances are higher for dry, deep powder in Niseko then thats where I'm going!!! At this point in my boarding, as long as the gradient is enough to propel me down the hill at a rate of knots and is waist deep, untracked or JUST tracked, then thats where I wanna be!! Any tips on where to stay??

Niseko slope

The weather here in Scotland is about predictable as the lottery. This winter has been really shite, decent weather for a couple of days then the snow melts and we wait another few weeks for a dump. global warming is really killing the ski industry here. Although i have had some awesome days in Glenshee, when it's good, it's good! glas maol and the back coire's are the best like. Cairngorms has skiing just now, enough snow on the upper slopes, not exactly what you'd describe as deep powder though. the problem just now is the wind. high winds shutting off the lifts. For the record, Glencoe is s -
i get in counrty next week and intend boarding the week after, any tips on where there will be some decent snow?? I'm more of a free ride boarder as opposed to the freestyle kind

Hey, I'm moving out to Japan in a month or 2 and I'm going to be brining my board and gear over. Obviously I won't be able to take it as part of my regular luggage as I would go over my weight limit because of all the other crap I'll have. Any useful tips on which shipping companies to use that are reasonably cheap for delivering my stuff from the UK??

Thanks alot!! I have been given a job, and the company says they will help me to get a flat, so I take it they will sponsor me or be my guarantor, but they won't set me up in one as companies like NOVA and AEON do.

I'm moving to Japan at the end of March and I'm looking to find me an apartment. Any tips on Gaijin friendly agencies and/ or landlords in the Fujisawa, Kanagawa area? If anyone is looking for a flatmate in this area too please drop me a line! Cheers

Tried a search online but couldn't find anything. bite the bullet and get somebody to send them in a package for you with some Dairy Milk (the good stuff from the UK, not the other shit that gets sold in other countries!!) Crunchie's, Bounty, Walkers Crisps......
