I know there are loads threads comparing Niseko and Hakuba, but what about Niseko compared with the other places in Hokkaido. I'm planning a New Year trip to Hokkaido and figured just to go to Niseko, but would I be better going to Furano/ Kiroro/ AN Other place? thoughts

Do they allow you to take it, if so where do you store it? I've only been on a Shink once and I can't recall seeing many "board-size" places to store my board cheers

I want to travel to one of these islands this August but have heard that they get booked up pretty quickly. I've tried online at the usual websites but none seem to cater for travel to these islands, anyone any idea which Travel agent to use or contact numbers for ferry company and Hotels?

I'm looking at a trip for over New Year, I have never been to Hokkaido before and am a mid-level boarder. If the chances are higher for dry, deep powder in Niseko then thats where I'm going!!! At this point in my boarding, as long as the gradient is enough to propel me down the hill at a rate of knots and is waist deep, untracked or JUST tracked, then thats where I wanna be!! The weather here in Scotland is about predictable as the lottery. This winter has been really shite, decent weather for a couple of days then the snow melts and we wait another few weeks for a dump. global warming is really killing the ski industry here. Although i have had some awesome days in Glenshee, when it's good, it's good! glas maol and the back coire's are the best like. Hey, I'm moving out to Japan in a month or 2 and I'm going to be brining my board and gear over. Obviously I won't be able to take it as part of my regular luggage as I would go over my weight limit because of all the other crap I'll have. Any useful tips on which shipping companies to use that are reasonably cheap for delivering my stuff from the UK??
