  1. What's the snow generally like in late feb/march? I'm deciding between Hakuba or (more difficult) Hokkaido.... Cheers
  2. from London get out to Japan once a year, determined to get a weeks snowboarding in! Hakuba in late feb/march unless somewhere better crops up
  3. I bought a Burton BMC 164W at the end of last season for 35% off....it's the only board that fits my size 13 US boots....I also picked up a pair of Salomon F boots at 30% off. Maybe I'll get some skillz this season and stop smashing my back on rails!
  4. I'm off to Jasper in 2 weeks - does that count Apparently loads of dumps at the moment! Can't wait!
  5. It's cheaper than having to pay for an overnight hotel I think the Hakuba train only leaves at 9 or 10 o'clock in the morning. Gordon can you tell me the name of the bus company who operates this? my flight comes in at 9AM normally, which means I can't catch the train, cheaper just to catch the bus. Otherwise you have to change at Matsumoto for a local train and that journey takes 6 hours
  6. I've been boarding for 2 years now, getting in about 15-20 days each year. I used to ski for about 15 years before that (watashiwa 23sansai). I can go down a black run and stupid speeds no problem, only problem I have is jumps!. Rails, no problems there either - except I smash my back when I try going to horizontal . anyway. What's the best way for doing 360s/180s on kicker/drifter jumps? I can do 180s on the normal slope, just going at that speed / height etc I seem to freeze up and end up just doing a big air with a possible grab. Going slower doesn't help given that I have less room for
