From Copenhagen you can reach "Fujiten quality" resorts in 3 hours by car in Sweeden. if you want better snow you have to go quite far up north. Sweeden don't have very big mountains in general.

Norway is a 12 hour drive thru sweeden or overnight ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo.
Gasoline is about 200 yen/L and the ferry is also very expensive. Norway is one of the most expensive countries in the world.

A cheap alternative is Poland. they get decent snow and have some ok mountains (so i am told) but last thing i heard is that the resorts lack infrastructure.

most danes go to the Alps by bus or airplane.

Snowlife is nice in japan. i could get 30+ days pr season on a small salary. Just need a old car, some gear and a warm sleeping bag.

  4. SirJibAlot,

I had the pleasure to talk to you for a very short time. You seem to be a very nice person to be around, and most of your posts are positive to read.

You are young, you have savings and a spouse visa.

You can do better than NOVA

i think You can do whatever you want here in Japan.

But the world is so big, and maybe you should see what your current job can offer. there are so many nice places in this world (still)

have you thought about going to Europe?

  5. I know this is not my personal blog, but:

i got new visa, out with the "special permission" in with a one year spouse visa. normally immi will not issue re entry permits to people who are still serving their sentences (i finish on November 20) but i guess i was lucky.

only problem is there are no flights from Denmark to Nepal, have to go to Delhi.

There are direct flights to Kathmandu from Osaka for 10 man.
