  2. Taguchi!

Thanks for your reply. I respect your opinion.

Did you know that the maximum sentence for kidnapping in japan is 5 years?

The maximum sentence for smuggling weed is 7 years.

The Japanese constitution gives everyone the right to pursue one's own happiness.

I get happy from smoking, it improves the quality of life for me!

I also wanted to ask you one question, but then you decided to quit this tread. Since you are back i'll try.

What would you think and what would you do if your kid got arrested for the same crime as i have?

I'm not accusing you of being a bad parent, just wanted your opinion.. ;\)

  3. I think the import detail was the worst, but the judge did not specify which offence was worth x amount of time, i was just handed a "bundled" sentence.

If any of you have interest in the law, or want to be active in changing it. visit this site (japanese)

The guy who runs the site has been a great support for my wife during my imprisonment

    He deserves 5 stars!

Right now he is collecting signatures to support a brother in jail. if anyone is interested, i can give more details in english. Please PM me

I got 1 1/2 years "in prison with forced labour"

BUT sentence was suspended for 3 years.

    I'm free!

I even got the CD cases that my friend used to send the hash. Without the hash of course, but they SMELL ;\)

  5. Once again thanks for your kind words!

Ocean, weather i am a good person, i will leave to other people to judge ;\) but thanks for the kind words, i have read enough of your posts to appriciate your phrasing ;\)

Sunrise, I will post the whole story, but just sharing it with you people has helped me a lot.

I'm not suffering from POST traumatic stress just yet, i have my last courtdate on friday. I will recive my sentence then.

I am going to get some acupuncture this weekend, if i get the expected suspended sentence. Thanks for the advice! (I just read out your last post to my wife. What i nice person you are, she said)

Yuki's Passion, i have smoked for 20 years, i have felt great about it most of the time.

I have decided to quit 100% in japan, or where ever i go in the future. there are things more important than getting stoned. a life in freedom gets me high.

I can not let down the people who love and care for me one more time. i have been forgiven once, it is not going to happen again. I promised them to quit!

..And those of you out there who smoke weed knows the feeling of paranoia while stoned if the Circumstances are not right. Smoking can never be fun for me again if i am going to break that promise AND having a suspended sentence hanging over my head!

Stoners out there, the risk is just too big here in Japan, if you loose you are in big trouble!

Oh one more thing, I will probably improve my snowboarding a lot this year due to the lack of stimulants \:\)

  6. Davo!

Thank you for your kind words, it really warms my hart!

Yeah Sunrise, you are right, it could have been a lot worse, and i must say that while the japanese "hemp control law" is unfair, it is a very "cool" thing that the justice system is likly to give me 1 (one) chance and hand me a suspended sentence.

    ...And Taguchi

My Boss 68 years old. He is also a police officer.

While being held in isolation, My lawyer came with a letter from him. It said something like "Everyone at the company is very worried about you. We all hope for your fast return to your job (!) Everyone makes mistakes, the important thing is not to repeat them.

    That was all he wrote.

He came to the last trial to testify on my behalf.

He told the judge that he himself had made some "trouble in his own youth" He promised to spend more time talking to me, when asked what he would do to prevent me from commit more crimes.

Today i had my first day at work. EVERYONE were very kind and supportive, though i bet that they don't think weed or crime is cool.

3 days after my release for my "malicious" (prosecutor's words) and "foolish" crime. i suffer from insomnia, uncontrollable emotions and stomach problems. My body feels 10 years older.

    I have no power.

I could not make the paddle past the break in shoulder high surf yesterday.

My arms and legs are thin, but i have gained weight

But i still have love !

I promise i will tell the full story when my head clears, and the trial is over, hang on!

Once again thank you everyone for the Positive respons. It has helped me lot to read your posts!

I was NOT thinking. (just like all the other people who makes mistakes)

that is the whole point, and my mission with this tread is mainly to warn other people against being as silly as i was.
I do not wish for anyone else to make the same mistake.
If we over time can broaden the discussion it is fine with me.
My "letter case" is not the first one, and sadly it is not going to be the last.
I hope that it will be the last among SnowJapan users, and if so, i have achieved something!

  8. Thanks for all the replies!

taguchi, i did something that was illigal, there is no excuse for it. i'm 100% guilty, and should have respected japanese culture!

I smuggled 6 grams of hash, and got caught with another 3.4 grams of weed. I am writing my story on this forum to warn other people, not to get your sympathy!

I should have thought about what i did, My arrest hurt many people.

My crime itself hurt no one, not even myself.

I will from now on try to be active in fighting the Hemp Control Law (by legal means) i will not EVER again break the law here.

I think it is cruel that an end user of a relativly harmless drug is being punished so hard, while violence cases are being closed after only 10 days often ending vith a 150.000 fine in smaller cases.

Drunk driver cases are more or less same story with a fine of 300.000 yen.

But i got out just in time for the season \:\)

  9. Thanks everyone for your answers!

I still feel quite sad about the whole thing.

I am going to tell my story to everyone who is interested. My wife has got a lot of support from other people who have been thru the same. I will try to help as well as i can!

My wife has been FANTASTIC, strong, supportive and

loving! i owe her my life!

My wife is japanese, and i have permanent visa, so we'll stay, for now at least.

My boss came to court to witness on my behalf. He is an old fasioned guy, but told the court that he was willing to give me another chance.

My father in law came up with the bail money.

The local "Ikan" wass full, so i stayed at the police station the whole time, for you who don't know what ikan is, read here This is NOT my story though!

Everyone involved in this case has treated me nice, i can't complain about other than an unfair law, that was close to ruining my life.

I still have scars on my soul, im mentaly and physicaly weak, and i have becommed addicted to sleeping medicine that the police doctor gladly gave away (BIZARRE!!) and i cannot sleep

but i have love and support.

I will fight the law, not break it!

Don't do like me, do as i tell you ;\)

  10. Hi everyone!

I've been away for a little more than 3 months, here is the reason:

In late july, i asked my friend to send me some Hashish in a parcel from Denmark. He was going to visit me, and we were going to have some fun.

We have done it a few times before, with no problem.

On the 29 of July, at 6 o'clock in the morning 15 police officers and customs agents came to arrest me.

    My nightmare started.

After 93 days in prison, 40 of which was in isolation, i got out on bail (2 mill yen) last friday. i have my last trial on friday, and i hope and pray for a suspended sentence (likely).

As an European i've grown up with the impression that smoking weed is not that "bad"

However, Japan don't seem to share that view!

This incident have had big costs for me and my family.

Luckily i still have my wife, whitout love, i would not have made it.

To whoever reads this, PLEASE think twice before you break the law in Japan, they are not joking!

  11. Yeah, maybe i should just live with it, but thanks for the advices anyway.

Just thought i would ask if anyone had a new idea!

Plucky, it is not uncommon that temperatures hit -20 at Norikura and Ontake at night time, and that is a bit on the chilly side! but i'll be alright!

  12. Hi!

Maybe an unsuitable subject right now, sorry about that ;\)

I just bought a Toyota Hiace van, Nice car! i plan to use it this winter for my snow trips, and i usually spend 2 nights on the mountain per weekend.

I HATE ideling, it is a waste of energy, it stinks, and a Hiace Diesel van procuces 60 liters of CO2 per minute!!!!!!

But i also hate freezing, and a night on the mountain in -20 degrees feels very long.

I have a good sleeping bag, but i still end up with a cold nose.

I already did a search on google, but came up with nothing useful. Does anyone here have some solutions?

Some people have suggested that i run a gasoline generator outside for an electrical heater inside.. ?!? Generators are 2 stroke engines that pollutes even more than a car. Hardly a solution.

Gas and kerosine heaters uses oxygene, so i would need some kind of ventilation, and i am a bit afraid of

    any tips?

    imagine you being here

anyway, can't complain about the salary

I spent 10 years working in offices and a.c'd server rooms in my former life, and i don't miss it at all!

only 2 more months to go before temperature (hopefully) goes down below 30

  14. Stephen King did a remake of Lars Von Trier's original "Riget" (which means kingdomin danish)

    Wowow is sending both.

I have a lot of respect for Stephen King's work, but i doubt he will match LVT.

i am SO hooked on that thing (LVT's) that i dl it because i can't wait for 7/23.

KlingKlang, Potato language is not easy to understand \:\) never mind the japanese subtitles

  15. I was going to start a new tread, and then i saw this one....

Right now Wowow is showing "Riget" the Kingdom.

Riget is written and instructed by Lars Von Trier.

It is 2 mini series, and it is simply world class!

... L.V.Trier is from Denmark (so am i) and of course i enjoy listening to my native tounge and to get some sublime humor and horror.

Take a quick look at these reviews

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108906/usercomments

People from all over enjoy this show.

    It is available on amazon

I can't find Riget II anywhere else than Emule.

Gaijins who don't read kanji and don't understand potato language (danish) will waste their time on wowow 7/23

    I'll give it 9 of 10
