not as busy as i had been told but still good to get some miles into the legs. snow was really soft by late afternoon but some fun rails to hit made up for that. just waiting for the powder to come and may be heading to hakuba once the season gets underway.
huge differences in the heights of the groomed snow-like mini steps going across the snow. it may have something to do with the snow quality- it seems to be quite heavy- but i want to know if other resorts have similar grooming now.
having only been up twice this season I have noticed the total lack of grooming skills by the japanese resorts. 1st @ Maranuma Kogen and then @ Kagura.
Has anyone else had similar problems? theres nothing worse than cruising then hitting a 15cm "ledge" whilst laying down a toe-side carve.
Do you have an international drivers license? you can hire a toyota "fun cargo" for 8000yen for 1 day so for 5 i would assume it would be cheaper. if you are hard up for cash you can always sleep in it too. they easily accomodate 3 people plus boards/bags etc for a day trip but two would be max to sleep in
