  1. If anyone does anything about it, give us a mention will you
  2. Oh yes. We have already been working on it for over two months now, and there's probably another two months or so to go. There is lots of new stuff coming up - probably the biggest yet for 1 season, and the most complex yet from a programming/development point of view. Hopefully it will all be worth it. A lot of work yet to be done though. Sorry, can't say more than that. Enjoy summer!
  3. Good to hear, thanks. All things are we think now back to normal - if anyone is experiencing some strangeness, please mail us at the usual editor@ address. Thanks.
  4. Actually, the photo thing has now been fixed up now - please do give it another try, you should find it to be working ok now. There are a few other things that are still not as they should be, but we should be back to normal within a couple of hours. Thanks again.
  5. Sorry about that. Hopefully it will be fixed soon, will post when things are ok.
  6. At the moment we're really busy working on new stuff for SJ for next season. That's the good news, but the bad news is that in the process of doing this we are today experiencing a few technical problems with current functionality (actually permissions on uploading photos and forum related stuff) and so you may experience a few problems if you try to upload photos etc. Sorry for any problems you might experience. We're working to fix this up asap and will let you know soon. Thanks
  7. Quote: look at the numbers for Yuzawa that SJ put on here occasionally We're preparing another one of those actually at the moment. Quick fact for now..... Yuzawa & Minamiuonuma-shi (Shiozawa/Muikamachi) down 14% in total from last year.
  8. Yes the southern part of the resort - Shibutoge / Yokoteyama / Kumanoyu all connected but separated from the rest of the areas. There's a bus linking them up and they use the same ticket for the main season, but you've can't ride the snow between them.
  9. While my more technical colleagues were sat in front of pcs, I was lucky enough to take a bit of time out in Shiga Kogen. I took a lot of photos of the area and resorts while I was there and uploaded a lot. Part of Yokoteyama and Shibutoge at the top were still open - hardly anyone around though. Here's a few pics, more can be found here: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/insider/photo.php?userid=ShigaKogenNow

  18. You're welcome. We want people to upload lots of pics of course.... we just want to keep the library of photos up there relevant. We think that in the future the SJ Photos section will be all the better for it! Thanks.
  19. Hi farquah, it's really interesting to hear about it all! About your photos..... like we said on the uploading page, we really want to keep our Photos section to be ski/board related. As such we have taken the photos out of your Gallery and - because we like you, and this time only - have uploaded the photos to a different location on our server and have linked them into your thread above so they don't disappear. Hope you don't mind. To everyone - please keep photos uploaded to our Photo section ski/board/Japan snow related. Many thanks!
  20. Bushpig - you should be able to send PMs now.... just checked and the settings are "on" for you. Let us know if you have any problems. nicole - yes you need to post a bit before you can use PMs (check out the "First time poster" thread in Snow Talk) Thanks!
  21. This from todays Niigata newspaper. If anyone has any more info (or if there are any mistakes here) please do let us know. ------- Theres a small resort in Niigata city called Charmont Hiuchi, near Itoigawa. It's owned 50% by Itoigawa city and well known as being a good place to find powder and ride off course. Apparently until now skiers/boarders have been ducking ropes and searching for powder (as they do) but the resort has not been not so strict about it all and pretty much let it happen. But this year Itoigawa city apparently wanted to get much stricter about that
