Region 1: North America, South America, East Asia except for China (India, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia etc.)

    Region 2: Europe and Africa

Region 3: China, Russia and other countries

    Per Wiki:

    Region code Area
0 Informal term meaning "worldwide". Region 0 is not an official setting; discs that bear the region 0 symbol either have no flag set or have region 1–6 flags set.
1 United States, Canada, Bermuda, U.S. territories

2 Europe (except Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus), Middle East, Egypt, Japan, South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Greenland

3 Southeast Asia, South Korea, Republic of China (Taiwan), Hong Kong, Macau

4 Mexico, Central America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Oceania

5 Afghanistan, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Africa (except Egypt, South Africa, Swaziland, and Lesotho), Central and South Asia, Mongolia, North Korea

6 People's Republic of China, Hong Kong

7 Reserved for future use (found in use on protected screener copies of MPAA-related DVDs and "media copies" of pre-releases in Asia)

I noticed a helluva difference when I bought my new telly and blue ray. Even when I play xbox games vs blue ray there is a very noticeable difference. I compared by using Avatar. The colors in that movie are one of the best color testers out there Id imagine.

8 International venues such as aircraft, cruise ships, etc.

ALL Region ALL discs have all 8 flags set, allowing the disc to be played in any locale on any player.

How many days do you want to spend on the slopes and how many days do you want to sightsee. Then you'll know if you have enough time to go or not. Hiroshima is worth a one night stay, but not a day trip out of Kansai.

The Shink from Osaka to Hiro is about 3 beers, or 1:45. Granted, I drink slowly. So, just looking at transportation by shink to and from you are looking at 4 hours. Getting to Miyajima by JR to Miyajima is about 30 mins, the boat is another 15 on top of that (plus the wait). I hate traveling rushed like that as you dont get to get a feel for the place at all and you're often tired, so you dont get to enjoy the place that much. Walking around Miyajima is worth the good part of half a day. Especially the inner island and far side there are some pretty cool old houses and streets back there.

The Peace Park and museum are interesting. Just save a bit of time before eating after as some of the pics are horrific.

Best thing about Hiroshima - Okonomiyaki and Bishu Nabe!!

    EDIT:

I love once plans are made because any and all BS that comes up from now and then can generally be overlooked as you know you're going to have an epic trip party

It'd be great if people here actually stopped and looked. They're so used to people waving a flag and following, so the thought of looking is often beyond them. Ive seen a few accidents because of those 白髪s wakaranai
  4. I dont know the answer to your Q, but I bet you might probably actually earn more by keeping your money under your futon since it would keep you from having to withdraw money and paying a fee to take some out. There really isnt much incentive to have money in banks here. Whats the interest on the Post Office accounts? Its the "highest" right?

On the other hand, interest on loans here for houses and cars is quite low compared with the States. So, are you really better off earning higher interest on your savings account but paying more interest when borrowing?

On the other hand, hitting some SC off the resorts in Hakuba valley we would be doing a lap anywhere from 30-60 minutes after the traverse back to the lifts, so you get less "lines in" but enjoy a really nice long run.

    Which do you prefer?

Skyline at Happo is a great run, one of my favorites, but the lift is so slow...takes about 11mins!

About a minute to get down and 11 minutes to the top = roughly 10 mins razz

  7. You must not have had it bad then if you were able to drive home - lucky!!!

That stuff will put anything down. I've (quite unfortunately) had to use it a few times on dogs when cycling and running and have tried everything possible not to use it, but in the end when you're going to be the one taken down, there is no other alternative. I've seen the biggest, nastiest dogs go down and basically lose control as they try to rub their faces on the ground trying to get it out of their eyes. Not a fun thing to do a dog - especially since its probably the owners fault that it is so aggressive, and NOT tied up in the first place veryangry

Yes, you mentioned that, but never explained why Japan would supposedly destroy it's writing form, yet there is no record of Japan doing that is there? 7ad? oops, yeah 4ad, damn key pad. :s

Since you seem to be such the linguist, why dont you make that your PhD research? I doubt many people have tackled it!

You dont need to look further than 日本å²A and 日本å²B to see just how badly Japan HAS distorted its own history. Try finding out any information on what Japan did in Manchuria, China, Korea, Thailand, Myanmar, Philippines, etc and you'll walk away with your head shaking. You might find a sentence. One sentence on the subject matter. I recognize that most countries dont teach the depth of what destruction really took place, but to totally deny it and act like it didnt happen? wakaranai
