  1. I am not saying that it isnt heaving at lunchtime. I am saying that it is the same outside japan, because lunchtime is a natural time to eat lunch. Also, i am saying that it is a cliche to say that the japanese have no individuality, and it amazes me how westerners who actually live in this country can maintain that belief. It's a little tricky, and to some extent I agree that the japanese can be drone-like, but I think sometimes people take that view to a non-real extreme.
  2. but its simply not true, because I often see people eating lunch at 11am, 2pm whetever. and anyway, i bet its exactly the same outside japan. most people get hungry around 12 o clock so that is when most people go and eat. i dont think there is any 'rule' that the japanese slavishly follow.
  3. indeed, the worthington cup game against sheff utd is on tommorow (thurs) morning live at 5am. channel 307. set yr alarm clock!
  4. i always have lunch and also a little drink break in the AM and PM. It just helps recharge the legs and breaks up the day nicely for me.
  5. cool. it seems that you can watch liverpool live every week pretty much on sky. not that it's happy watching at the moment.
  6. it was a dive. he is adamant that he didnt dive but come on he must think people are fxxing stupid if they will believe that, it was totally obvious to even an arsenal fan that that was a dive. it was worse than Owen's dive for england during the 1998 world cup against argentina.
  7. yeah the salomon boots were cool. I was using crappy battered old bindings before. These bindings are marginally heavier. pick em up and you should be able to tell. its not crazy heavy tho. its not a big deal. to be honest they wre enot as revolutionary as i hoped, but they are better then reg. bindings, to omoimasu.
  8. So anyway i tried them out for the first time today. They are definitely much easier to get into, and it is possible to put them on while on the lift. I found it better (safer) to put them on while waiting on the red line before sitting on the lift though. However, I got told off by the staff for doing this. I guess they were saying you cannot be strapped in on the lift, which i thought was weird and unnecessary. They gripped my foot better and I felt like I had more control over the board. They are slightly heavy but its not much of a problem given the advantages. I am a ha
  9. i'll be trying them out on thursday so will post here about it. does anyone know how important it is to adjust the wire thing? when i first tried them on they seemed to fit ok, but i wonder if they'll be tight enough...
  10. thanks for the adice. i have salomon boots so hopefully they fit ok. they felt ok on carpet. You can adjust that backpiece you know? so you can adjust the forward lean. i guess that would prevent you getting your fingeres underneath you heel.
  11. I just bought these new bindings made by FLOW. They are hybrid step in/strap in, so you can strap in while you are sitting on the chair lift. I bought them cos all the reviews on the net I found were raving about them. They feel really comfy, as the pressure from the support straps is divided across the top of most of your boot. I'm busting to try them out but will have to wait for a while. In the meantime, does anybody have a pair and if so what do you make of them? http://www.eternalsnow.com/flfl11.html Are they too good to be true?
  12. there is a dorm type place at kashimayari for 2000yen a night (2500 on w.ends). its part of the ski-jo so look on their website.
  13. in an attempt to lure cheeseman back to the boards, i dangle this piece of cheese... http://www.uknow.or.jp/be_e/s_topics/spotlight/christmas/06.htm its an article about the value of cheese at xmas.
  14. yeah i have got 120,121,306 and 307. maybe some more. i dont know. but for sure i get all the english soccer they have to offer. i cant remember the name of the pack, but i think it is the premiership soccer pack or something and its 3000yen. you also get loads of other crap like italian, french, spanish soccer and uefa cup (yeah!) worthington cup etc.
  15. yup you sure are. you need channels 306 and 307 too. they are JSkySports. i pay 3000 yen a month for the soccer pack that has all the preimership live games. phone them and hassle them about it. theres usually 3 different live games on on a sat night, with one being on 306 or 307.
  16. yeah i saw it on skyperfect in my house. they seem to show liverpool every weekend, its great. we had a house load of chances but kept skimming the post and stuff. hamman and murphy both came really close. owen missed some good chances. gerrard looked awful and skied every shot he had from outside the box. to be fair, they had a lot of chances too, but not as many as us. lets hope they shape up for the vitesse game on thursday.
  17. yes, are there any nightas yet? please share your knowledge! i know kashimayari isnt opening its nighta until dec 21st or so. how about 47/goryu?
  18. Kashimayari have 200 beds at 2000yen a night, or 2500 on holidays and weekends. Its kinda like a big dorm/capsule thing where theres a long wall of bunkneds and the beds can be curtained off - it looks good in the photos.
  19. Its my favourite book, and the movie was great too. I am thinking about flying out to HK or somewhere so I can see #2 this xmas. I dont think I can wait until march
  20. grim tidings...a narrow win on pens over the 'mighty' ipswich. however, it said on BBC that Dudek did ok. Made a good save late in the game. I don't think we are gonna see Kirkland this season unless Dudek gets injured. Thats my interpretation of the club policy going on last nights team sheet.
  21. dudek is a GREAT keeper. But, I am looking forward to seeing more of Kirkland. He is also shxthot, and I kinda wanna see him in the team for Englands sake. I think Houllier gave dudek enough chances. he messed up against fulham, vitesse, boro and man utd. so its time now.
  22. its ok if you go with your mates. If I was on my own I would have been pretty f'd off about having to use 6 hours to do a 2 hour and 20 min test.
  23. my experience was different. it was only 3kyu, but no-one was cheating in anyway. also, the invigilator was pretty hardcore. he was young, but i wouldnt have fxxxed with him.
