Naeba is basically just one (big) resort.
Hakuba has more resorts in the area to choose from. (Though admittedly there is more to choose from in Yuzawa 30 mins away from Naeba).
I'm not sure about Hakuba in mid-December, but I'd say Naeba is a bit risky.

I saw what I think was an inoshishi recently. They were on the news as well the other day, showed how strong the things are (very!) - wouldn't want one of them charging at me - and they were entering peoples houses and making a nuisance of themselves generally. I can't reemember where it was.

How often do you clear the snow from your roof gamera? When it gets to a certain weight? Whats the most you had_? Too many questions, sorry , very interesting though. Be careful up there!

I've never been more than friends with a Japanese guy, not that many that do it for me to be honest. Trouble is, I don't find lots of the gaijin guys here that good either (usually the attitude does it).
I'm sure there's some great guys frequenting here though of course.

(Kyodo) _ A majority of Japanese disagreed in a recent government survey with the traditional notion that wives should stay at home for the first time since the poll started in 1979.
The survey on gender equality also showed a record 40 percent of Japanese believe women should continue to work after having children.
But while female participation in the Japanese workforce is growing, the reality is that men have not been taking up a bigger share of housework and the burden of household chores still falls on the wives, according to the Cabinet Office poll released Saturday.

Get one of those masks that basically cover your head with just a hole for your nose and eyes. Then put a hat on. You might look like a bank robber, but it'll keep you warm.

Nowhere this weekend, but Yamagata next weekend which I'm really really looking forward to. The last few months have been just so busy it will be my first real holiday for yonks.
