  1. Does anyone know much about Japanese maps. I think Ive basically got it worked out but my Kanji is limited so its a bit tough. Why isnt there a declination diagram on the maps? The map Im looking at has 9 degrees 30 minutes written as point 5 in the map margin (under the legend) I also recognise Kanji for west here with a lot of other kanji. Im assuming the declination for this map was 9 deg 30 min west. Right? How do I convert the map date to a western year? How about tranlsations for vegetation symbols? any info would appreciated?

  4. The board park in niseko is definately not huge basically a table and a spine. the spine last year was definately a biggie. Ive spent most of the summer regretting not having the sack to hit it full speed. Theres a nice area just up from kfc where people build heaps of jumps and hang out you can almost always find a nice kicker with a powder landing there. Dont know much about rails, still need to work on expanding the sack for those. Everytime I try it I end up with a nice blue rail tatoo across the back, and thats on the easy ones they set up on course.

Im sure everyone who has written in hopes you guys make itover and have a great time. Living at a resort could be cool but there are four of youtrying to get work and accomadation and you dont have a lot of time, money or language skills. The kind situation youre looking for may be difficult to hook up especially if you are out of the country. Id still reccommend sapporo because 1. Work- If you decide to go to Honshu youll land in Tokyoor Osaka, ther
  12. Emily, Id really think about going to Sapporo. Its a big city but you can easily access heaps of resorts. Finding work at a resort could be difficult but if you are in Sapporo with a working holiday visa you could get a part time joband travel around to a variety of snowboarding spots. I work full time here but there are places so close or even inthe city that I can still board before or after work everyday if I want to. On the weekend Its tough deciding where to go, so many great resorts to choose from. Oh by the wayHokkaido also gets the best powder in Japan, and lots of it. There a
