Tubby Beaver - yes it is.
1 day is 4000 yen and that is ok for all areas of Kagura.
If you want Naeba as well, pay 5000 yen and you can ride the lot on one ticket.

Sigh.
Look, we are simply not getting into an in-depth debate on this.
Re-read what I wrote.
Re-read the guidelines.
In response to your comments, samurai:
Quote:no advertising on SJ?No.... and I did not say that.
Please re-read my words.
I said there is no advertising on these Forums.
If you look, you will notice that there is no advertising allowed on these forums - either paid for advertising or people blatantly trying to sell something.
If you do see anything that you think is 'advertising', tell us about it via PM and we will look into it and it will probably be deleted.
Quote:then how does the whole world know that FatTwins runs a lodge in Hakuba?Apart from the fact that 'the whole world' does not actually know this, he does not promote his lodge on these Forums. Yes, he does have a listing on the site, but that is not on these Forums. If you can show me a post where anyone actively promotes their lodge or other business on these Forums, please point it out to me via PM.
If you have a complaint or comment to make about our policies or related, please contact us directly rather than post it in public.

Mantas, it seems you have misunderstood. I was responding to ug -- I was not telling Rag-Doll that he cannot contact another member.
Nowhere did I say or even imply that Rag-Doll was trying to "sell" or did I ask him to not contact this member.
We do not allow advertising and sales on the Forums or via PMs.
We never have done.
What is complicated about that?
-
Quote:Are we allowed to solicit sales on here now?
ug - no you most certainly are not allowed to.... not on the forums nor in PM messages. -
Welcome to the new "Trip Reports" section of the Forums, the place to post your snow trip reports.
The same general guidelines for the Forums in general apply here. In case you haven't read them or want to take another look here they are:
http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubbthreads.php/ubb/postlist/Board/12/page/1
(The only thing we would like to add is that we do of course realise some people will have their own blogs elsewhere on the web, but please remember that the Trip Reports forums are for reports posted on here, not to post links to reports elsewhere).
You can post photos on SJ here:
http://www.snowjapan.com/e/insider/photo_gallery_image_uploader.php
You can also post videos to our new video site here:
http://www.snowjapan.tv/upload.php
Once you have uploaded those photos and videos, you can then easily embedded them into your trip reports on these forums.
If you need any help at all, please just email us at editor@snowjapan.com and we'll be happy to help.
Remember you can also post Resort Reviews and keep your own online Journals:
Resort Reviews:
http://www.snowjapan.com/e/voice/review.php
Journals:
http://www.snowjapan.com/e/insider/journal.php
Looking forward to hearing about your trips.
Thank you.

Well this isn't a Snow TR and this part of the Forums is called "General Travel & Trip Reports - Japan", so I think it is best suited to be here, don't you think?
-
We're looking into this and may well adjust the way the averages are calculated to further remove the effect of some jokers voting "100%" all the time.... thanks tsondaboy!
-
At the moment no. We can of course adjust this in the future if we feel it is a good idea. At the moment we just monitor any obviously strange voting patterns.
-
We considered doing that, but eventually decided to go with a system where you can vote your "General Score" as well as the other 4 more specific categories.
If you want to just give a resort 1 general score, just vote in General Score and the others will not be registered.
-
Er, it might be one of them!
It is currently calculated by simply dividing the total score by the number of votes.
Good idea big-will. It will be interesting to see how the numbers change as more votes are cast.
(This was discussed on the chat box this morning but we have the ability to delete votes if we notice any suspicious voting patterns).
Please do vote for resorts you have been to, everyone. You can vote from any of the resort pages on SJ, or easily from this form here:
http://www.snowjapan.com/e/resorts/japan-snow-resort-vote.php
-
We have just moved some of the TRs so far into here - so you can get an idea of what it would be like...... (we can of course always put them back!)
Any thoughts?
-
So what you think folks?
We still haven't made up our mind....
A "TR" forum or not? Your votes please!

Well, if we kept the last few days info on the main page, it would just confuse the matter more, wouldn't it?
And what you suggest - that caused us such a lot of problems didn't it? And in actual fact, the Now report numbers have traditionally used the official numbers in the table.
It seems we just cannot win.....
It is impossible for us to ask our report posters (who are all of course located in that location) to go out and measure snow depth every day on the mountain, and if we did do that, where exactly would they take it from anyway?
The text commentary for each day will reflect how much snow has fallen each day and in the village - written from personal experience - so you should be getting a good and reliable idea of what is going on each day.

ger - I have increased the video size limit on the tv site:
http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/247603#Post247603
-
Hi ger
Thanks for the comments.
The limit was 50MB but I now have just increased it to 100MB.
Let us know if you ever have any issues.
(A few weeks ago the site was undergoing a few changes, but it is settled now).
-
Sounds good me jane!
-
Thank you thank you
It is most welcome to hear positive comments to balance out the likes of the ones we got this morning.
-
You're welcome projectsplat.
-
Well, yes.
We just got a mail in which someone branded the whole of SnowJapan as "not credible" and "a bit of a joke" because of this issue. Nice way to start the day....
-
Like we said in the report, apologies for the confusion on this.
-
We plan to put the official Hirafu numbers on there - which are presumably on-piste.
The number that is followed by (at top) is the snow depth at top.
The number that is followed by (at base) is the snow depth at base.
-
We would love to see them, Mamabear.
Any snow vids are most welcome and a wide range of types of videos can only be a good thing.
Lots of people don't realise that the Forums part of this site and that community represents only a small section of the traffic and people viewing SnowJapan in general - possibly less than 10%. Not everyone is "hardcore" and as with the resort photos, reviews and other areas of the site - the more the better!

Hmmm not sure but probably about 2000 yen I would guess to Mitsumata, more for Tashiro. If you could find someone to share with....
What time would it be? We might be able to take you this weekend..
