  1. 7-11 ATMs are on the international bank network so you should be able to use those to draw cash as well as the Citibank ones....I think I also used the JP Post ATM once. :-?
  2. I always wear a helmet. originally because it was warm....didn't fit right, didn't feel right...but.... Have since had enough crashes including one serious whiplash crash after launching off a compression into a jump on a race course that left me dazed even with the helmet. Result is that I believe its far better to have the cushion of a helmet, than not, between my noggin and any hard surface of any kind. I don't look cool in it but am too old to care any more and hope to continue skiing and get even older while doing so. As most have said though, it should be personal choice, or a decisio
  3. Thanks for the info Mike. Our UK crew have booked already so will let everyone on here know how the crazy Niseko cats do when we return end of Jan. Did two days with Powder Mountain nr Whistler last year so have something to compare against.
  4. Friends are coming out from the UK to visit us in Tokyo in mid Jan and then we are going to Niseko for 10 days together They sent me a link to an outfit called Niseko Snow Cats (they also do Snowmobiling tours apparently) based out of Kanbetsu and ski in the Yamanashi range based on details from their website. I already told them that it will be a waste of money based on the reports of Weiss on here but then what do I know? Anyone know anything about them and the terrain, etc.?
  5. Just back from Nozawa and a 40cm dump on Sunday night. First time to a Japanese ski town other than Niseko and really enjoyed the place much more than Niseko. Stayed up top on Yamabiko most of the time as it was much colder up there. Tried the Onsen which I think were hot enough to cook lobsters in and nearly cooked me when I jumped in. The guy next to me said to try the "luke warm" bath next to the one I jumped in but honestly I couldn't tell the difference. Highly recommended
  6. The price isn't really that different from what you pay in the States. Went in Canada last year and I think they charged us around $500 per person for the day.
  7. Hi. heading to Nozawa next weekend and then Myoko Kogen (Akakura Onsen) for New Year. Does anyone know if the Mt. 6 tickets are still being sold and do they cover both Nozawa and Myoko Kogen? The Mt.6 website mentions Akakura but I can't figure out if its just Akakura Onsen or if it covers the other areas in Myoko Kogen and also how/where to buy them. Thanks for any info. Looking forward to first ski days this season
