  1. Don't let it stop you! I did it in what was pretty close to a whiteout.
  2. I get a heap at rusutsu, You can check them out on youtube if you like, just search for etm360, select my channel and check out the 2012 stuff. You can get pretty damn fast through those trees which I find one hell of a rush.
  3. believe it or not that pic was taken 2 days after the last snow, I just hit a different peak to what most people do.
  4. Well I made it back home, I haven't slept for over 36 hours and I cant seem to get tired enough to crash out! Day 2 in tokyo sucked pretty hard, I loved the cultural aspect of tokyo with the shrines and east gardens but you can have the rest of tokyo and most of the people. They are suit wearing, ground staring robots and are nothing like the friendly people of hokkaido. I will not be going back to tokyo. I was glad to leave to be honest which is a far cry from last year when it just about broke my heart to leave hokkaido. Next year I am doing a longer tour and going to focus on northern ho
  5. Handlebar would work too, I just bought the roll cage one because I have a race car, it worked well. Toss a coin there just dont go with helmet cam cause there is no comparison, get a stick.
  6. Helmet cam is average, dont bother with it. Get yourself a nice light extendable pole (mine is a cob web duster lol) and the roll cage mount from gopro and be done with it.
  7. yeah thanks for the tip Gozaimaas. i hit this area up the other day based on your advice. you can almost get to that open section straight off the east muju run which is pretty handy. a bit more pitch would make it more worthwhile but nice snow and pretty much untouched we also went further out and ran the ridge over from it. this was pretty awesome despite the extra hike out. there is a nice steep section down into the valley with minimal trees and nice open lines. it's a short run but quality turns the next ridge over again looked to be the real goods. quite a steep run in with a com
  8. Hey guys Im in tokyo now, what an amazing place. I have 1 min left on this computer lol. I will post again soon. Leigh
  9. Hey Jynxx, I think the style probably comes from a mix of skate (first love affair with a board!) and ski but also surf. Got some new footage this weekend so I'll throw something together and post it later. Gozaimaas! Awesome vids dude! I'd like to shred it up with you sometime if you make it out this way No prob mate, where are you at?
  10. Haha the gopro actually makes it look slower than it really is. Those runs were at mach 1 speed.
  11. If you want to ride trees do not hesitate. It makes the board 100x better for that style of riding with the only downfall I can see is it would have less pop for doing ground tricks and huge jumps. I dont do that stuff so there really is no downside for me.
  12. Well it had to happen, I broke the gopro mount lol but it wasnt exactly my fault. Today I took out my 164 stepchild powder OG board complete with brand new sp fastec mountain bindings. Long story short the main strap of the binding broke on me after just 6 runs, turns out the ratchets are just glued on. I wasnt a happy chappy. The board was really playful and floated unbelievably, you were right jynxx, the nose shape is everything when it comes to float but it just isnt enough board for me. I think I will probably off load it when I get back, its the perfect board for someone around the 80kg
  13. Haha I always say there is no such thing as close, you either hit it or you dont. Last day today, then off to tokyo for 2 days
  14. There was no new snow today but still plenty of powder left over from yesterday to enjoy and the bluebird skies made it all worthwhile. I just cruised around taking pics and enjoying myself with a few cruisy runs. Here are some more vids, I hope im not boring you guys!
  15. This vid is for you Jynxx. It is a typical run for me, belting down the groomer faster than anyone else and then hitting my favourite powder stashes. I dont like limping from stash to stash on a rocker board like I did last year, this board is much more fun.
  16. You are not taking into account my weight. 120kg easy with gear. Show me a board that will make me magically float and I will buy it. If a lighter guy was to ride this board it would look much different I am sure.
  17. If its acting like a break somebody forgot to tell me, this board is fast.
  18. Its a 2009 burton supermodel with a DIY swallowtail. Full camber. Please note that I am 6'3" and probably over 120kg with gear and backpack. I realised last year in Japan that I hate rocker, and I rode full rocker and hybrid rocker. Not being able to get a decent edge on the piste really takes away from the fun. This board kills it everywhere on the mountain. Camber + swallowtail + big setback is where its at for me. Total mountain domination, excluding park but I have no interest in park. I am tearing past guys riding the burton fish every run as they slide around trying to find an edge
  19. Haha yeah if that tree wasnt there I think I was in for a much longer slide!
