  1. I might as well be in Tahoe atm lol. Below is the total consolidated snowfall for january at my base camp in Iiyama.
  2. I would not even consider a 2wd. Japan is full of awd cars for a reason.
  3. I would consider nzmsc avi 1 as an option, this is the 7 day prerequisite industry recognised course for the ski patrol and ski guide pathway. just an idea, may not be your thing. I have previously done ast1 and am now doing ast2. Im not trying to get a job anywhere, I just want to learn as much as I can. NZ does not interest me in the slightest (assuming I would have to go there to take the course?)
  4. Ahh well what can you do. Anyone want to guess where I will go next season lol?
  5. Myoko is worse as it faces south and gets belted by the sun lol. It will probably be fine in 2 weeks as its expected to snow next week (while I do my ast2 course) The total consolidated accumulation in the car park where I arrived dec2 is about 10-15cm. Its deadset unbelievable.
  6. I will leave here on the 15th sorry needpowder. Pwat42. Stop making me cry. I have had about 4 good days in a month, worst snow trip ever for me. The snow is now granulated spring slush, absolutely terrible.
  7. Forget chains. You will more than likely damage something, take it from someone who has torn a brake line off with chains lol. Get yourself another 2 snowtyres, mismatching summer and winter tyres is a great way to wreck your car. Think of how much money you could lose if you dont buy those 2 tyres, they really are cheap.
  8. Im at Iiyama which is an awesome location to base yourself. Its basically in a valley surrounded by resorts. From where I sit now I can see Nozawa, Kijimadaira, Ryuoo, madarao and Togari with Myoko and Shiga Kogen just out of sight. After being pretty disappointed with Nozawa initially I now love the place. Purely for its out of bounds tree runs, but there are a lot of hazards and some pretty dangerous terrain there. Lots of people have avalanche gear which is definately needed IMO but lots dont. People are bombing the backbowls without a second thought the morning after a big dump etc.
  9. Rain in nagano today :-( Makes me feel like I am in AU again except there arent any cars driving around with Australian flags that attach to the car window or australian flag rear view mirror covers.
  10. I cant remember. I have a bionic knee and its pretty much always sore and swollen.
  11. Yeah we just havent had the snow I built those boards for seemore, also the terrain here is different with narrowvwindyvtracks out where the wide waist widths are a real pain in the backside. All that on top of my injured swollen knee, Im basically taking the easiest option atm which is the birdman.
