  1. *ding* Sanjo, the GF lives in Nagoya. Hakuba is closer to where she lives, but she said she wants me to have fun so if i wanted more snow, i should go to Hokkaido instead. Just don't know what i'll be paying, so I'm glad i have my own travel agent as a girlfriend.
  2. LOL maybe i should have said i'm between the choice of Hokkaido and Hakuba.
  3. Hey whats up everybody my name is Farrell (Nihon no namae ha Sousuke, yoroshiku)...I'm an Blackinese american Servicemember currently stationed in Okinawa, but hoping to be stationed in Yokota in December. I've been following you guys for a few weeks, reading the cumulatives for snow in Honshuu, because i'm going to visit my GF and she wanted to come shreddit with me. No snow in Okinawa. Hope to keep up with you guys sometime down the line! Minna-sama yoroshiku ne, mousugu Nihon ni yasumimasu kara, Snowboard shitai desu yo! Oshibaraku datta kara, tabun 1nen han kurai, tte yuu ka

I'm actually between Hakuba and Hokkaido, because i know hokkaido will have snow, but i don't know whether Hakuba will...to be more specific, actually looking at more like beginning of april so thats why Hokkaido is coming into play.
  5. So yeah on topic... I can't speak for skis. Hate them actually. But it depends what grade the slope is and what the powder/pack is conditioned like. In some spots i can flat run fine...what keeps me going on my flatrun is when i see terrain, i get down low and loosen my knees a little bit. For me, its about knowing your board. Knowing the sweetspot for my carve gives me the greatest confidence, because in a flat run, if your carve angle is reached, and you're going fast, you're stopping...one way or another. That and my breaking benjamin playlist makes me unstoppable.
  6. So i'm going to Japan to SB when i get back from the 'Stan...my girlfriend suggested this one resort called the Sierra Resort in Hakuba (she's a travel agent). Seems like an AWESOME getaway. My only issue is that i'm supposed to be getting there like late march/early april. Some of the people i have talked to say that Hakuba is known to have snow up until Mid-May! Should i stick with Hakuba, or should i press farther north like Ichinoseki, or maybe even Hokkaido? Let me know, thanks! Hayate
