  1. WHAOA ! That has got me all ill that vid... I think I already recounted an adventure I had in Canada similar to that on SJF. Gotta have a buddy and a plan. That guy was so close to death, he is coughing up blood... not good...
  2. But Jynxx is right... and it isn't unique to Japan. I established (admitted) long ago I wasn't an expert on Japan and never professed to be one. On the contrary. I don't know why people got upset. Tourist complex... far too succinct, Jynxx and better to call it a syndrome
  3. NO that is the wrong implication Jynxx (apparently) PS I was never bitching, just conversing... I do bastard better than bitch
  4. Personal abuse... how charming, why can't you interact here with civility? Play nice

  7. You see I never saw the 'implication' I made as BAD, or NEGATIVE. Only you lot did... WHY?

I would LOVE to go to a an awesome Japanese ski resort and be the only Giajin I saw for weeks on end... sheesh.... but of course none of you would WTF absolutely BIZARRE how this has transpired...
  9. Oh OK I see now, it is all so clear (clear as yellow snow), you all want 'some' foreigners but just 'not many'. I guess Seemore will say he wasn't saying that as well Totally confused... I wasn;t trying to put words into peoples mouths it really just occured as what I thought people meant... to me that is what you were saying, you would rather not be around foreigners while at ski resorts in Japan. But frankly this now seems more like damage control for lack of specificity rather than anything else, did I confront it on the wrong level? meh! Here I was then hoping to indulge in some

  11. Ridiculous? Look, people can do what ever they want more strength to them, but lets just own up to it for crying out loud. It is fine if people want that, I don't judge them for it, it is not bad, nor is it right or wrong, just a preference... but the implication is most certainly there. Why the ambivalence... You guys still think the world is flat too? Originally Posted By: seemore My next trip will be somewhere away from foreigners I just need to learn the lingo so I can talk to people if need be. 13. You asked a question... Originally Posted By: muikabochi And I don't think anyone here was mentioning they wanted a ski resort "without any foreigners". Where was that btw? I answered. Why so obtuse

It is interesting to me whatever position you take on it. The thing is that some people do seem very egocentric about these things. Japan is not the only place in the world to have ski resorts that cate
  16. Yes but they are in serious decline, no proof or source to point you too about that, it is just the apparent state of things - is it wrong? Happy to be corrected.
  17. Well yes, in fact it is imperative because the point that people are making is that they don't want to see Gaijin. They want to be surrounded by Japanese and Japanese culture, at a ski resort. Those criteria can only be met by a domestic tourist destination. Quite apparent really. EDIT: If you mean does it matter that they are going under... well I guess that depends on if you want good facilitates, service and holiday experience that more than a camping trip to the snow
  18. So you have to go to a 'domestic' tourist destination. Aren't they the ones struggling or going under?
  19. As funny as it sounds (or at least was meant to be) there could be a plot in there somewhere... perhaps a bit too 'Being John Malkovic' however
