  1. I take the glucosamine hydrochloide (vegetable base), too. I agree, I don't get diarrhea like with the sulfate. It does do wonders to some people, others have serious allergic reactions (life threatening in some cases) and some show no improvement. Arnica comes in oral dose and also Arnica+Hypericum cream is good for bone healing. my calcium dose is yogurt and for Vit c it's orange juice. . I eat a lot of salmon, or else fish oil is good! cheers
  2. That will be good ! but at the meanwhile glucosamine helps provided you are not allergic to it. I have 5 fractures in the past 6 years, 1 from pushbike, 1 from base jmp. 1 unknown, 2 from snowboarding. It's now 6 weeks since I did my elbow and I'm out there. Arnica is good, too. My recovery time hasn't been affected by aging yet, flexibility better than most youngsters, however my eyesight needs longer arms and they aren't growing.... cheers..
  3. That's what I'm talking about lateral thinking mate..... good one
  4. Have you heard of Nordic Walking? People walking brisk and happily with poles..well that's the image you see on mags. I ask my self what's wrong with marching, doing it without poles. So, same with skis. If you can't initiate a turn without poles, you have a technical glitch. Sure, poles give you a sense of balance (i.e.; rope walking) and a feeling of security. And most instructors will aim to improve your pole skills if you had been skiing without proper instruction from the beginning. Lousy pole placement is common. Having said that, no it's got nothing to do with showing off, it's a good e
  5. My point is that the generational change has already occurred in skiing. You might look at the 50 year old skiers and think they have a traditional mind set ...I'm saying bollocks to that. A 18 year old can be ultra conservative than the current 50 generation. It might be the new generation that snubs freestylers or snowboarders because some things don't change in Japan, but I doubt that . I remind you we started freestyle in Naeba in the late 70's. There were some snowboarders, there at that time. Sure there is a mindset of the Japanese that thinks jumping onto something new is shallow, But
  6. That front foot pain.. I get that and a friend of mine gets it, too. I take it as a good sign that I am boarding on my front foot but that doesn't help... I started going switch this season and that made a difference for me. And lots of leg stretching and knee rotation exercise! cheers
  7. I'm new to this forum, so you have to all excuse me for budding in. I have to disagree with some of Ryoma's commentary on the generational gap, or traditional technical vs freestyle, or snowboard vs ski outlook. Man, It sounds like something we used to discuss in the late 70's. Yes. sure there was a world=wide what-the-**** is that to snowboarders from skiers then but the last 8 years that's gone. Money talks and the resorts know that whether it's Japan or Europe, snowboarding is in. As for freestyle, we were on to it trying out our new Ballet ski and moguls were the norm in Japanese mainland
  8. Hi, Daisuke... You must be pretty amused to see everyones response.. It's obvious most people have age related issues about how we see ourselves. I just have to point out theirs a big difference whether you are Japanese or a westerner. Like if you are a Japanese girl you are considered "out of use by date" when you are over 25. At the same time 45 year old will still look 25 and 70 year old 40. You don't have to prove anything to the outside world how you are being perceived, it's a matter of how you feel or you accepting yourself. With guys, yeah there is "SA", a difference between OJIN
  9. Hi, I'm new to this forum. Spitzingsee in the Bavarian Alps being the closest and great on weekdays for us but not much snow happening this year. It's hard old snow, 20/40 cm at the moment. Last year the snow came early and we even had earlier opening weekends in Zillartal but this year we are still in wait for the big one. I think we head down to the southern parts of Austria. It's supposed to snow this weekend, fingers crossed... Cheers
