A local bus operates between Inawashiro Station and Urabandai Kogen Hotel which is located just off Route 459. That bus takes around 30 minutes.

By road

Urabandai is located on the northern slopes of Mt Bandai. The ski area is about 2km off Route 459 at the south end of Lake Hibara. In winter, the closest Bandai-san Gold Line road connecting this area with Bandai town is closed, so the roads to the east of Mt Bandai need to be used.


Inawashiro Bandai Kogen IC is the closest exit on the Banetsu Expressway.


From the Inawashiro Bandai Kogen IC exit, turn right onto Route 115, heading north. After 3.5km, branch off to the left onto Prefecture Road 2 (look for the sign on the left-hand side) and continue on that road for about 4.5km until reaching Route 459. Turn left onto Route 459 and continue for about 11km until reaching a road sign for Ura Bandai. Turn left to head to the base of the ski area.


There are three car parks at the base of Urabandai. Parking is free every day of the season.
