The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here . It has started snowing again this morning. Just a dusting on the ground so far, but hopefully the start of a decent amount over the next few days. Coming down nicely just now as I'm typing this. May it continue!! Conditions getting wet and heavy in some lower places along with that bit of 'dust on crust' thing going on this morning until we get a decent layer of fresh. Better snow conditions found the higher up you go as we wait for the new snow to freshen things up. Limited visibility on the slopes this morning pretty much wherever you chose by the looks of the webcams. It's keeping quite mild with the temperature hovering around freezing just now, so just what will happen weather wise today and tomorrow is of real interest. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here . Limited visibility in many areas yesterday, with snow falling higher up and giri-giri rain at times lower down at base. Hakuba 47 reported 5cm during the day. Not the lightest, but it's certainly better than the see-through stuff! This morning we have more snow to report and a decent amount as well higher up - up to 20cm in places being reported. Less than 5cm here in the village. Down here in or should I say above the village we can see increasingly clear and blue skies opening up, though there's still a lot of cloud hanging around the mountains and poor visibility in places. The remaining snowfall is due to stop and if the skies here are anything to go by and those cloude clear we might be left with a day of fine weather. Strong winds are messing with lifts though this morning with widespread disruption at the start of the day. Details I can find added below. Hopefully that situation will improve as the weather clears. Weekly forecast is currently a mix of mild-ish conditions, clearer weather and snow showers. --- Hakuba Goryu: Reporting 20cm of new snowfall at Alps Daira; 10cm on Toomi. All courses planned to be open (except Adventure Course). Strong winds affecting quite a lot of lifts early on at Happo - check with the resort for latest updates. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here . It's a really great morning to everyone from Hakuba. Can you tell I'm happy? Yes, we are having a tremendous return to winter conditions at the moment. Don't you just love fresh snow. Resorts reporting some good numbers this morning - up to 35cm at Hakuba Goryu and Hakuba 47, up to 40cm at Hakuba Cortina... details as we have them added below. I reckon it'll be more as sometimes it's really quite unclear as to whether that's for the 24 hours or 'since the previous evening'. Around where I am in the village since yesterday the number I'm going to add to the report is 25cm. With snow still falling and adding to those numbers, it's a good decent layer of snow which will transform conditions. (Also adding a level of potential danger as well - don't get too excited to lose the safety first thinking). Love it. Limited visibility though out there, and the weather conditions might affect some higher lifts this morning - see below for any info currently available. --- Official snow depth numbers and operations at time of writing on Wednesday 11th March 2015. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here . Good morning from Hakuba. A bit more cloud moved in later in the afternoon, but it was a real feel-good day yesterday. This morning there's some grey cloud hanging over the village at the moment but clearer blue skies over the mountains. Forecast for the day today is cloud and fairly warm spring like temperatures again. We can probably expect some icy conditions early on softening up as the morning progresses. I was just looking at the other reports and the forecasts for the coming week. I too am intrigued by what is being forecast for early in the week. If it's right we should be on for a very decent return to winter conditions. Which is just fine by me! Trying not to get too worked up about it just yet... but it will be very interesting to see how that develops over the next few days. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here . Good to see snow back this morning. Just a bit down below here in the village and base areas but some places reporting 15cm higher up. And it looks like it's snowing nicely up there now as well, so let's hope it continues. Bit of a wind but it doesn't seem to be affecting lifts. Limited visibility generally though on the mountain this morning - a small price to pay for fresh. Just know where you're going. Some decent (snow) potential late weekend into Monday too, so hopefully February will go out and March come in on a good note. --- Hakuba Goryu: Reporting 15cm of new snowfall at Alps Daira; 2-5cm on lower areas. Snow during the day yesterday, Hakuba 47 reporting 20cm of it up there, and just a bit more overnight with snow on the ground this morning. This morning resorts reporting varying amounts of snow as noted below... Cortina 20cm, Goryu 10cm, Happo 10cm... there should be some fresh to find out this morning. It feels quite cold as well and while there is still a lot of cloud around, forecasts tell us to expect sun today and the skies to clear with a high of around +3C later this afternoon. Not a massive amount yet so it's a mix of new on old out there this morning but if this front sets in and brings us a decent amount we should hopefully see a good new layer of fresh. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here . It was a fine day yesterday with just some thin cloud around and the sun out warming things up during the day. There were some nice fun conditions to be found especially in the morning and more fresh than seemed to have been reported as well which was a nice surprise. The sun did warm things up by the afternoon though making for another spring-like feel to the day. There has been another small amount of snow overnight and light snow is falling this morning. Temperature hovering around zero but hoping it'll stay around there and the snow will keep falling into tomorrow as the forecast tells us it might. --- Hakuba Goryu: Reporting 1cm of new snowfall at Alps Daira; 3cm on lower areas. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here . The snow keeps on falling! Relentless snowfall at the moment in Hakuba. A few resorts reporting up to 50cm of fresh. The snow depth up at Cortina has suddenly risen to a whopping 500cm. It's a blur of numbers really, and as I think I have said before when they get big they kind of don't seem to matter as much. What else? I don't think I need many words really this morning. It's just a fantastic March storm that we are being treated to and we have a complete 'Refresh+'. Brilliant. Thank you Snow Gods, I believe in you*. We are likely to see snow falling today and tomorrow but by Sunday the skies will clear and it'll start warming up early next week and we'll see a return to spring like temperatures. In the meantime though, top conditions. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here . The good news from Hakuba continues today with another 15cm of snow on the ground here and more on the mountain. Hakuba 47 report up to 40cm, Cortina up to 35cm. Nice. The storm has been calming down now though. This morning it looks clearer and sunny higher up, overcast skies from below. But fine weather is forecast for the day today and the sun should warm things up a bit. There's going to be lots of sun in the coming days if the forecast has got it all right, and a proper old warming up as well. The last few days have felt like mid winter, but come a few days and we'll probably feeling very much spring once again. Can't do anything about that. For now, it should be a great start to the weekend and I hope some of you can get to enjoy it. --- Like I said yesterday, March can be a funny old month. Similar to early season, it can be a risk if you are booking a holiday, albeit a different kind of risk than early season I suppose (absolutely no snow is much worse than spring conditions!) As the last few years have shown though, we can have very dry periods mid season as well. A bit more snow overnight - not as much as we might have hoped for, but hey look at the calendar - and right now there's some cloud about but lots of blue sky too. The sun is out as well shining down through the window here at base. That sun is maybe making an appearance a bit sooner than expected, but now it's here I'd say there's a good chance it will stay. Sunny skies are now forecast through into the weekend and possible even early next week along with warmer temperatures as well.
