The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here . Lunchtime report on this rather warm day in Nozawa. So warm in fact that the resort has reporting a temperature of +17 degrees at the Hikage area, 12 degrees at Uenotaira and 10 degrees at Yamabiko. (As you might expect... no new snow!!) But it has been a fine morning here with blue skies all around and not much of a wind. Tomorrow will very probably be similar up until later on in the afternoon when rain is due and that will probably continue into Sunday as well. Freezing level is zooming right up well above 3000m and so we can't expect anything but rain up top either. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here . New snow to report this morning from Nozawa. It started as rain yesterday but was snowing later on and this morning the resort is reporting up to 10cm of snowfall on the upper slopes with just a few cm down on lower slopes and village areas. There's quite a bit of cloud around still but also some blue sky as well and the sun shining down on areas of the mountain. It feels like it will continue to clear up especially with surrounding areas now boasting clear blue skies. More clear and sunny conditions forecast for tomorrow along with warmer temps. Rain is currently on the forecast for Thursday. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here . It's one of those mornings where there's a big difference in the temperatures up top and down in the village. The resort is reporting a temp. of +2 up on the top Yamabiko area, while down here in the village it is more like +10 degrees. A cloudy start to the day in Nozawa and it looks like poor visibility up on those top runs that are open - fog? A chance of rain later and also tomorrow as well, perhaps even a chance of some snowy stuff up top. It should be a relatively busy weekend coming up as there's 3 days holiday... Monday being a national holiday. After a warm night when temperatures remained above 10 degrees in the village, this morning has started off warm and there's lots of grey cloud above Nozawa. Rain is forecast for this morning though right now there's none falling... down here anyway. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here . It's foggy up there! Yes, fog up on the upper slopes that are open early this morning. Keeping cold as well, with a temperature of just -1C degrees on Yamabiko as of 8am, and 5C in the village. Rain is likely later on along with perhaps some stronger winds as well. Might it even get cold enough for a bit of snow on the mountain? Once we clear tomorrow though, it should be clearer and sunnier conditions right through until the last day of the season on Monday 6th. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . 80cm of fresh snow since yesterday. How does that sound? Talk about timing, as the resort prepares to get those lifts moving tomorrow morning. Just the 2 lifts tomorrow, with more open from Saturday. Madarao will decide on whether to get those tree run courses open at the weekend sometime tomorrow. The Mountain Pass with connecting Tangram will be available from 20th. So here we are. On the verge of a new season. And it should be the best possible start with a bit more fresh due today and then clearer skies possible tomorrow. I for one am mega excited. And you should be too. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Madarao is open! Hurray! And doesn't it look lovely. Yes, here we are once again at the beginning of a new season. Not much to say really other than it's a close to perfect start to the season with the large amounts of snow (another 30-50cm) and weather this morning. Some cloud around but clearing up with some blue sky as well. Nice and cold so the snow conditions will remain excellent. I almost don't want to say this but before the snow that's due again on Sunday, there's a chance it might rain. Whoever's in charge of the weather, please no! More lifts open tomorrow. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Let's great conditions! Great to see over 30cm of fresh snow this morning. The resort is reporting 30-40cm fresh fluffy white stuff to play in. Nice and cold too, so wrap up well and I hope you can enjoy the excellent conditions. Snow isn't expected to continue all day with clearer skies by the end of the lift day forecast. I reckon it might even be more with what fell yesterday, but whichever way you look at it it's just lots of fresh powder to play in. Good and cold as well this morning so get wrapped up and face mask time to make the most of it all. Not much more to say really. Conditions should be top notch. Weekend ahead and sun is forecast for tomorrow and Sunday, with it set to be not quite as cold. Couldn't ask for more really. Enjoy! Now for things to be just perfect, can the clouds clear a bit and give us some of those stunning views as well. I'm being fussy, I know! That might happen tomorrow though and it'll be a bit warmer as well. It's a cold start to the day today with conditions expected to 'improve' (ie. snow stop, clouds start clearing) later in the day.
