The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . Snow yesterday and overnight and this morning... sun?! Can't say we were expecting this but the sun is out right now. Lots of blue sky, quite a few clouds lingering on. It was a very cold night though and still very cold this morning.... I'm happy to say that it does not feel like early March. If we are to believe the weather forecasts, it will be snowing still today - and over the weekend as well - so perhaps it will quickly change and we'll be back to the snow soon. Whatever happens today (well, unless it's heavy rain which obviously won't happen!) it should be a great weekend. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . It's a cold winters morning here in Shiga Kogen. For a change it does feel like mid winter and not the start of spring. Which of course is a great thing. Would be better if there was less wind, but if that comes as part of the package... Snow and moderate winds are on the menu for the next 3-4 days and it will be keeping cold. If you are preparing to come here for the weekend, be ready for mid-winter like conditions and cold. Some more snow since yesterday as well but not falling right now though it may well be by the end of the day. Forecast for tomorrow is another clearer start with snow returning overnight into Monday. It will be keeping cold. Very nice conditions at the moment. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . After the blue skies we enjoyed yesterday, it's back to mid-winter today. Heavy snow is falling, there's a wind blowing it about and I can hardly see anything at all out of the window here in Maruike just now. White out conditions. Not the nicest of conditions to be out on the slopes and numerous lifts seem to be on hold due to the conditions at the moment. Best idea today is to take an onsen I reckon. But if you do go out you need to wrap up and be prepared to brave the elements! It feels more like mid January than mid March right now. Tomorrow and Wednesday are likely to be clearer and mid week we are expecting milder conditions. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . Yesterday, it rained. Not nice and obviously not good for the snow out there on the slopes. The much better news is that today it is snowing. Not the lightest or driest snow, as temperatures remain relatively mild (though still in the negatives), but it is actually falling quite heavily at the moment and a wind blowing around as well. Here's to a nice new layer to cover up the icy snow underneath. Clearer skies are forecast for tomorrow. Look for a warmup as we enter the new week and a sunny start to the week. After that stormy day yesterday and perhaps around 20cm of fresh snow (the wind was blowing it about big time so one number is difficult - but a good new later on the runs) this morning we have blue skies and sun over Shiga Kogen. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here . It feels like winter again! Not a huge amount but snow has arrived back and the road outside is white again, with snow falling now. A wind is blowing the snow about a bit and should make for cold conditions. Over the next few days it will be gradually warming up again and that trend continuing into next week.
