Independent snow and weather reporting from the Shiga Kogen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 10cm
Snowfall at base this season 580cm

Posted on Friday 7th March 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Shiga Kogen Now report can be found here.

Snow yesterday and overnight and this morning... sun?! Can't say we were expecting this but the sun is out right now. Lots of blue sky, quite a few clouds lingering on. It was a very cold night though and still very cold this morning.... I'm happy to say that it does not feel like early March.

If we are to believe the weather forecasts, it will be snowing still today - and over the weekend as well - so perhaps it will quickly change and we'll be back to the snow soon.

Whatever happens today (well, unless it's heavy rain which obviously won't happen!) it should be a great weekend.
