The latest Furano Now report can be found here . The weekend brought with it strong winds but an epic dumping of snow. Funnily enough on the Furano Zone the winds didn't seems anywhere near as strong as they were in the Kitanomine village which was most rewarding for those who made the effort to get out. Needless to say that with 25cm of new snow over the weekend out on the mountain the conditions were just premium whether you were on piste or ducking off into some of the powder stashes at the sides. There isn't too much on the snow radar through this week but we should see at least some dustings happening which will keep things fresh at a minimum. Kitanomine has been fenced here there and everywhere with the infamous Furano Ski Area orange fencing which indicates that it shouldn't be too far away from opening. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . The snow came in droves over night, leaving 10cm+ all over town and with even heavier accumulations in some places. It's still snowing outside, and it doesn't show signs of stopping until later tonight. The systems passing through the area these past few days have been the best snow-makers we've seen all season. Needless to say, the slopes are practically primed for powder aficionados. The next few days should offer pristine conditions around the mountain. It's currently -3 with slight winds coming out of the North, Northeast. The ski resort has upped its official snow depth to 100cm, and there's plenty of powder out there for all to enjoy. If you haven't made it out yet this season, it's time to strap on those ski boots and snowboards, and get out there and enjoy it! Things are starting to pick back up weather-wise after a relatively quiet morning, but the steady snow that's moved in over the last hour should be here to stay throughout the night and into tomorrow, bulking up those slopes with a healthy dose of fresh powder. It's currently a nippy -4 with winds blustering around at 3-4 m/s. Hopefully we'll get another 10cm+ out of this storm too, making for a lot of happy skiers tomorrow. The snow is still blowing around out there, so be sure to keep bundled up while you're out there enjoying all that powder. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Yesterday's windy weather also brought with it 12cm of new snow which has put the slopes back into good condition for this time of year. There is some great skiing out on the mountain today and if you are up there earlyish you should also get some nice pockets of untouched powder. It is snowing lightly at the moment and the weekend looks good with more snow on the forecast through Saturday and Sunday. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . You couldn't ask for a more perfect day with blue skies spanning all over the valley and affording sensational views to the Tokachi mountains. The slopes are in excellent condition after substantial snow falls at the weekend and cold temperatures are maintaing the quality of the powder. From today the Prince lift in the Furano Zone will be open for night skiing until 8pm, so get on out there tonight to celebrate the first night skiing of the season and you should be rewarded with some wonderful views of the night lights across Furano city. Temperatures are cold but the mountain has been nicely groomed and there was a dusting of snow in the village overnight and about 5cm on the mountain. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Another day, another round of snow for Furano. The moderate to heavy snow started last night and has continued throughout the morning. We're seeing fresh accumulations of up to 15cm+ all over everywhere, and you can practically feel the excitement in the air. This is exactly what the Kitanomine Zone needed to touch up those places where the snow wasn't quite as deep as we all would like it to be. The snow is piling up in places and creating plenty of pockets of deep powder for your skiing and boarding enjoyment. The temperatures are not so cold, clocking in at a reasonable -3 at this, the noon hour. Winds are slight to non-existent, meaning that the snow is falling straight down in blankets, and it looks like it's going to keep on coming for a little while longer. For those of you who enjoy skiing the fresh runs, today is your day to be out on the mountain! The grooming team has done a magnificent job on the mountain overnight and the groomed runs will be very enticing as well as the powder stashes. Temperatures are in the double negatives but the sky is blue and there are the famous Furano views all the way across the valley to Tokachidake. Technical Course on the Furano Zone is now open for the first time this season. It is all good news today in Furano with snow falling heavily from early this morning there is already accumulation of 10cm on the ground at base level. It will be fantastic conditons throughout the morning for the powder seekers with plenty of untouched stashes waiting to be tracked. With less people to compete with the Kitanomine Zone would be the place to head after a couple of runs in the Furano Zone. The forecast is looking favourable for the rest of the week with consistent cold temperatures and further snowfall on the forecast. We have certainly been blessed over the weekend with terrific snowfalls that have provided the powder hounds with plenty of fresh snow to carve tracks in. Kitanomine Zone is in great condition for this time of the year, and with both zones now open there is plenty of terrain variety available. A further 5cm of snow fell overnight. Temperatures are relatively mild today and it looks like the cloud that is currently around the tops will pass. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . We're off to a cold start this morning in Furano. The thermometer bottomed out at bone-chilling -20 overnight, and we're just now rebounding to a chilly -13. Afternoon highs should break into the minus single digits. The good news is that all this cold is wringing out the moisture content in the air like a sponge, and the dry, powder-like flakes that Furano is famous for are coming down soft and lovely. At the moment, we've seen nothing but a light dusting of around 2-3cm, but the snow is forecast to continue throughout the day. Perhaps we'll see some significant accumulation. The Kitanomine Zone Gondola is up and running as of yesterday, and almost all of the courses on the mountain are now available for skiing. However, the Todomatsu Course in Furano Zone is closed off to the public until 4PM today. Kitanomine's Giant Course and Kids Area opened yesterday and today, respectively, so there's something for everyone from beginners to experts. It looks like Kitanomine Zone just might be where the action is today.
