With only 12 days to go until the target opening date of Furano Ski Area the resort is focused on finalising preparations for the start of the new season.
Pre season maintenance is now complete on the lifts, and chairs have been loaded awaiting the first customers to arrive.
Temperatures have recently become wintery and the thermometres have now plunged below freezing. This morning the village awoke to find 5cm of snow sitting on top of the frozen ground.
The snow a high elevations is significantly more than 5cm and the forecast is for further snowfalls.
Furano Ski Area will open on Saturday 23 November conditions permitting
