The latest Furano Now report can be found here . The day turned out to be great with morning cloud lifting early and the sun breaking through to make a typically cold Furano day quite pleasant. There was a dusting of snow overnight which refreshed the nicely groomed pistes. Given that the Kitanomine Gondola was closed yesterday there was plenty of side powder waiting for those that ventured over to the Kitanomine side. The remainder of the week could be brilliant if the snow that is forecast from Thursday to Saturday stays on the radar. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . The winds have died down to next to nothing, and all the lifts are running smoothly today. This is a big change from all the gusty winds and heavy snow we've been seeing lately. The weather has quieted down significantly with quiet, partly cloudy skies dominating the landscape. All in all, a beautiful, quiet day to be out on the mountain. Temperatures are up to -4 after a chilly low of -14, and the forecast calls for more cloudy skies with little in the way of precipitation for the rest of the evening. Tomorrow looks like it's going to be very similar to the weather we had today, with partly cloudy skies and little snow. Things will be getting colder this evening, so be sure to dress appropriately for those of you headed out for a few runs of night skiing. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . It is all good news to report today. Yesterday around midday it started to snow lightly and really started to accumulate on the ground late afternoon. By evening there was 15cm of the light dry Furano powder in the streets around the village. Expect significantly more than this amount on the ski area itself. Yesterday's winds have died down for now but strong winds are forecast to return around midday and continue throughout the night. The morning sun is hitting the mountain and there is blue sky all around - a picture perfect day. Main runs have been extensively groomed. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . A few centimeters of fresh fell overnight, but other than that, there is not too much to report on this beautiful Saturday morning. Overnight lows were cold in the mid-minus teens, but have already warmed up to -6, thanks to the Sun who is out and doing his thing. Partly cloudy skies and on/off snow showers should continue for the rest of the day, but nothing too major seems to be in store weatherwise. Winds are light and variable; all in all, a lovely day for some skiing. Tomorrow looks like it's going to be cloudy and cold, with Winter still well-entrenched in Furano. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Yesterday afternoon forecast snow arrived which amounted to around 5cm at base level. In the pre dawn hours there was a further dusting of 2cm which could be seen sitting on top of the overnight grooming. Temperatures this morning were very cold but did warm up a little as the morning progressed. There were light winds present on the mountain which did slow down the Kitanomine Gondola at times, but caused no great drama. Many school groups arrived today and certainly made the lower slopes look fairly crowded compared to the last few days. The sun will take the sting out of the cold air, and the temperatures will warm up as the day progresses. Expect firm snow conditions for the first couple of hours and then slight softening due to the sun's rays. It should be a relatively busy on the slopes with today being a public holiday. The morning temperatures are again very cold and it is forecast to stay pretty chilly throughout the day, so think about adding some extra layers if you are about to head out. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Blue skies made an appearance very early in the morning but disappeared by 9am and have been replaced by high cloud. There has been a light dusting of a couple of centimetres of very light powder snow in the village overnight which will help freshen up the runs. Light snow is forecast from this afternoon. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . The slopes were bustling this morning! A clear and cold dawn has given way to scattered snow showers with occasional bursts of sunshine, and it looks like everyone in town has decided to hit the slopes. This means the lift lines are a bit longer than usual, but for good reason; it's absolutely beautiful out there today. Temperatures have warmed up to -10 after an overnight low bottoming out around -20. Afternoon highs should top out around -7 with more of the same scattered snow showers/occasional breaks in the cloud that is typical for February in Furano. The few fresh centimeters that fell overnight have been chopped up for the most part, but there's still some powder waiting on the less traversed runs, especially the courses that connect the Furano and Kitanomine Zone sides. The lower half of Furano Zone has been pretty skied out, but the upper portion of the mountain still has plenty of surprises in store. A few more snow showers should soften things up, but we aren't expected too much in the way of significant snowfall. The good news is that there are few if any icy patches, making for great carving weather. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . It is all good news again this morning. It is snowing moderately and there is a conservative 10cm of fresh snow at village level. Several courses on the mountain have not been groomed to allow powderhounds to get some fresh tracks, so don't delay and get out there asap to take advantage of this. Winds are present and at times moderate which may have an effect on the operation of certain lifts during the day. Yesterday Furano Now posted a new snowfall report of 5cm - we were contacted by people who had skied, to inform us that we were wrong and that there was 30cm on the upper mountain. We would like to clarify that for consistency and conservatism New Snowfall measurements are taken at Kitanomine Village level and on the ski area itself are liekly to be significantly more.
