Snow started yesterday evening after a generally fine day, and by late night there was already up to 20cm of fresh built up. This morning I'd put the number at 30cm and the resort itself if putting the number at 30-40cm. What's more, while there's still a lot of cloud up there, I can also see some breaks in it and a bit of blue sky. The sun is shining down from time to time. Is it going to clear up? Good chance I'd day. Clear up or not, there's going to be some great conditions out there to enjoy. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . It was busy busy out there yesterday. Really busy. Car parks full kind of busy. Really nice snow to enjoy though which is what it's all about and this morning the groomers looked good but probably won't last too long with another busy middle-of-the-three-day-weekend in store. No new snow to add to the pile but it's a cold start to the day. Mean looking clouds earlier with some clear areas. In the last hour or so it has clouded over somewhat but it's thin cloud and generally bright. Could clear up, doesn't seem to be able to make up it's mind. All areas open, ready and waiting. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . Whe-hey! How do you like the sound of 50-60cm of new snowfall since yesterday? Sounds good? That's what the resort are reporting this morning. It is definitely a very cold and snowy morning with poor visibility and a real mid-winter feel going on. Snow since yesterday then and a really nice new very thick layer to play in... the tree courses are going to be awesome today. Just watch where you're going because there's not much to see. These conditions are probably going to ease off tomorrow, so there'll be plenty of fresh still to enjoy then especially if we get more snow today which seems likely. Have fun! It's a cloudy start to the day and an impressive looking sea of cloud lower down in the valley - always looks impressive. 5cm or so of snow since yesterday and a current temperature of around -4 degrees c. Clouds may well clear somewhat during the day today, though we are due to get back to snow later on today and tomorrow with some decent snowfall due just before the weekend. So the weekend gang should be happy if the forecast is right. Light snow is falling and the top half of the resort is shrouded in cloud. Sounds like a moderate wind out there as well though all lifts on the mountain appear to be operating as scheduled this morning and all runs are open. Snow is forecast though both today and overnight and into tomorrow. Some come tomorrow we should have a nice new layer to play in. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . The snow continued yesterday dumping down, through into the night. But overnight the clouds have moved on and it's a clear morning here in Madarao. Well, above Madarao anyway, clouds can be seen down in the valley but it does look like it will be a fine day. Oh yes, and we got another 30cm or so of snow since yesterday. 30-40cm being reported by the resort on the mountain. It's about -8 degrees at the moment so a cold start to the day. This is really good. Today should be excellent. And with that, I must go out to check it myself! The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . It was borderline rain yesterday at times, and definitely a wet kind of snow that was falling. Not the best day of the season... and so soon after that deep snow as well! Doh! Anyway, that's behind us now and it is snowing proper snow this morning. Madarao Kogen is reporting 10-15cm of snow on the slopes and I can confirm 5-10cm or so on the ground under foot in base areas. Colder as well this morning which is welcome and it's about -6 degrees now. Snow continues to fall and generally visibility not so good out there. Forecast is looking good. Consistent snowfall over the next 6 days through into the weekend, possibly heavy at times. If the forecast comes true, it should be a fine weekend that's for sure. Let's snowing! It has been a lovely morning though with some fine blue skies above Madarao with only a few fluffy white clouds lingering and looking all pretty. Nice and cold too and so snow conditions should be keeping good. Snow is actually forecast for today and so perhaps it's going to cloud over quick. It has been known to happen. The latest Madarao Now report can be found here . It did continue snowing yesterday into the afternoon when we actually got some clearer skies for a while. Didn't last for too long though as this morning there's an additional 20cm or so of snow on the ground and Madarao Kogen is reporting up to 30cm on the slopes. Excellent. It's pretty much white-out conditions now though with very little to see at all. As far as I can tell, lifts are moving or at least plan to be moving. The resort's latest update at 9:22am shows all of the tree runs and a few lifts still being 'prepared' to be open, so hopefully they can. Extra care needed today. As I said you can see almost nothing out there. Don't smash into a tree and I would recommend staying to areas you know. Have fun but take care. This latest front should be over by tomorrow and calm will return by Tuesday.
