I would expect temperatures to rise fairly quickly, so the best turns will definitely be had during the early morning before the snow starts to become slushy. There is a minimal amount of fresh snow which has fallen over night which will be helping to refresh conditions on the groomers. Looking onwards, the weather forecast is still predicting snow most days this week with the most snow falling on Friday. Delicious! There's a break in the snow clouds now (for the day?) and the sun is out in places, and blue skies appearing. It should be a very good morning. The clock continues to tick faster than we would like and there can't be too many fresh snow mornings left in the season. So we must - it is our duty to - make the most of it... • Myoko Now: Wednesday 8th March 2017

Independent snow and weather reporting from the Myoko region of Niigata New snowfall at base 33cm Snowfall at base this season 1388cm Posted on Wednesday 8th March 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here . It's almost perfect out today; nearly 30cm of fresh snow overnight on top of what we got through the day yesterday, the clouds lifting to let the sun in; a forecast that says more snow ahead. Was it really raining a little while back? March has a way of doing this, giving some great powder just when most of the international crowd has given up and headed home. I'm not sure if this sun will hold, too; there are some pretty good cloud banks off to the north. Well, the sun is nice, I guess, but cloudy days don't give you sun crusts (and snow isn't delivered in the night by pixies). The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here . Good morning from Nozawa. It's a very good morning as well. Snow yesterday though it wasn't really the kind where the cm mounted up - but it got into another gear overnight and this morning there's 20-30cm of fresh snow being reported by the resort. Great to see a good fresh blanket of snow at base too, not just higher up. We were expecting snow through the day today as well, but for the moment there's actually quite a bit of blue sky appearing and the sun is shining through my window now. Very bright. That means that it should be an excellent morning here and I'm going to make my own way up to the top of the mountain as soon as this report is sent off.
