Snowfall at base this season 511cm

More snow!
Here's what resorts are reporting:
Hakuba 47: 10-30cm
Hakuba Goryu: 10-15cm
Hakuba Happo-one: 20-30cm
Hakuba Cortina: 5-10cm
And we are measuring a healthy 20cm. Not bad at all!
It's great to see official snow depth numbers actually going up rather than down as well. Tsugaike Kogen is approaching 4m once again! Nice.
March is often thought of as a bit of a risk compared with January and February, but as we are seeing now it can also bring the goods. With the bonus of things being generally less busy too. So longer untouched time! If you are lucky with your timing, you can really hit the spot with a March visit. Of course, it's easy for a local to say that (I'm not bragging, honest!) :)
Enjoy yourselves and take care. Expecting clearer skies over the weekend.
