Certainly colder than we are used to for the end of March. It doesn't look like we should expect much snow over the next few days and more chance of sunshine. Then again you never know this season, it hasn't seemed to want to stop! The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here . Morning from Nozawa and some nice numbers being reported by the resort, along with some fresh snow down to village too. Nearly 30cm of fresh snowfall according to the resort up on the top Yamabiko course areas - pushing the official snow depth up there to a very impressive 435cm. (Golden Week is going to be absolutely no problem up there, unless we get some kind of freak heatwave in the meantime!) Around 10cm down at base, so mountain-wide fresh this morning. Can't believe it's almost April, almost feels like mid-winter and the resort is saying that it's -7C up at Yamabiko early morning. So you still need to wrap up good before heading out. Some mixed forecasts for the coming week so let's just keep an eye on them and see what happens. And you can tell how it is now school holidays as there are more families around with young children, getting in some last skiing or boarding before the season is over. A bit of snow falling higher up yesterday afternoon and resorts reporting up to 10cm at higher elevations this morning... Hakuba 47: 10cm Hakuba Goryu: 0cm (Iimoro) - 10cm (top) Hakuba Happo-one: 5cm Hakuba Cortina: 2-5cm Snow is falling now here in the village and it looks like it's pretty limited visibility in places on the mountains. Tomorrow sun is expected and it should be warming things up a little. As we head towards the end of March, some lifts and courses are now starting to close for the season at some of the resorts that remain operating. I will try to keep any news for each resort updated below, and when things start to get more restricted next month I will go into more details so you can keep a track on exactly what is open. Hakuba 47: Hakuba 47 is reporting 10cm of fresh snowfall. All lifts are operating and courses are open as normal. Official snow depth Upper: 325cm Base: 150cm Hakuba Goryu: Hakuba Goryu is reporting 0-10cm of fresh snowfall. All lifts are operating and courses are open as normal. Some lifts are now closed for the season but all areas of the mountain are still available. It's currently snowing pretty hard although not all that much has accumulated just yet. Conditions on piste today are soft and powdery! Currently, the weather forecast is predicting big snow from now until Tuesday with a clear day on Wednesday. We do have rain predicted for Thursday but as today has proven it is no guaranteed to be rain! Could be the snow kind! Powder Surprise! The latest Naeba Now report can be found here . Good morning from Naeba everybody. Today is looking like it should be a fairly nice day out there. Blue skies with a decent amount of cloud although the clouds do not look too ominous. Conditions on piste are smooth and fresh thanks to yesterday's snowfall. Definitely a carving day! This week we are expecting a heavy snow storm on Sunday night / Monday morning. This will be prefaced bu rain but seeing as we are expecting a large amount of snow in the storm this should not be a massive issue. Wednesday and Thursday look like they may both see a little rain which is not too surprising seeing as we are coming towards the end of the season now. NICE!
