This is it folks --- the last day of the 2016/2017 season here in Madarao.

And what a beauty of a morning it is too.

It is going to be a fun day and no doubt pretty sad come this evening too. In terms of snow, there could surely be another week or two of life in the season. But the resort plans this to be the last day, so that's it.

The official snow depth on this last day of the season is 250cm and the mountain really is in excellent shape when you consider it is early April.

I have had a really great season and from what I can tell when speaking to people on the lifts, so have a lot of visitors. And there have been more of them from overseas this season too - indeed this season there has been another large increase in people reading my reports. Thank you!

I'm going to enjoy a few lie-ins this coming week, and then perhaps get out to Nozawa and Shiga Kogen for a bit more skiing. as they are open into May.

So thank you very much for reading the Madarao Now reports on SnowJapan this year. I hope they have been a help.
