The sun is out too. 3cm of fresh snow at base and up to 10cm on the mountain. It is forecast to be a warming day - and tomorrow too. Not too much please! The latest Furano Now report can be found here . The clear sky last night has translated into a beautiful bluebird morning. It is sunny, and the clear conditions are forecast to stay through the day. The temperature is currently a chilly -16c and the high is expected to shoot up to +1c early afternoon. Wind conditions are calm around base area. There was quite a snow blast before midday yesterday, and this provided a nice fresh top up for the mountain. The latest Zao Now report can be found here . Anyone here just needs to look out the window to see that a sunny day is ahead of us so lenses for a very bright day. Fortunately, temperatures remain low so that the sunny day forecasted for tomorrow as well means that the snow should not be too affected. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here . The snow has stopped, with very little added overnight, and the sun is getting ready to come out today. It's already pretty clear to the north around Lotte Arai Resort, but a big shadow of clouds is still hanging around Mt. Myoko. This is supposed to break up through the day, but it's also nice in that it will keep the snow shaded and cool and fresh for a little longer. Warmer weather is ahead, then maybe some snow again around Thursday. March may be just about here, but it's not spring yet! The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here . Well, we got another 20+cm of snow since yesterday on the mountain, according to the ski area, and around 10-15cm around base areas. This morning starts with a mix of cloud and blue sky but forecasts all point to clear and sunny weather for the day today, so we should probably expect the cloud to go away. It is a chilly start but the day will be fairly mild... and warmer still tomorrow and Wednesday. We shouldn't be surprised if it gets to +10C in the village. Yes, friends, we are soon going to have to start talking about spring. But March is always interesting and can bring various surprises. Hopefully snowy ones. And the ski area is open until early May, so there's a long way to go! The latest Geto Kogen Now report can be found here . Good morning from Geto Kogen. This morning an interesting set of numbers. About 15cm down at base, but the ski area is reporting 37cm higher up. This kind of difference, I feel, happens more and more as the spring season approaches (hopefully not 'here' yet!) The snow stopped in the evening yesterday but started up again overnight. The forecast for the day is snow and just cloudy at times. Early on very limited visibility; hopefully that will improve. Clearer skies are due from tomorrow for a few days. The latest Zao Now report can be found here . A small amount last night but together with yesterday's keeps the higher slopes softer. It is brightening earlier than expected but the tops are still in fog albeit not that bad to see the terrain as you go. Expect high winds today so look out for potential closures. Those still here tomorrow, don't forget that the Ryuzan slopes (far left) are only open on the weekend/long weekends and are worth going to. Light snow showers may be prevalent throughout the day which will add but not a lot. We need it as temperatures and blue skies are expected early in the week. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here . An interesting weather day in Myoko on this Sunday. Wind, blowing snow, drifts, then some sun, rinse and repeat. It's quieted down at the moment I'm typing this, but I don't want to repeat yesterday (when I said things have quieted down, and then they didn't). Not that I feel guilty; hey, it's winter mountain weather and consistency is not to be excepted. Or wanted. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here . We did get some snow yesterday, but it didn't amount to that much in terms of cm (3-5cm reported by the ski area yesterday afternoon). The taps were turned on more overnight with the ski area reporting an additional 25-35cm overnight. Excellent. There's some really good snow out there this morning. It is still snowing and we might get some more, but the snow clouds are due to clear by tomorrow. Sunny skies are forecast for tomorrow and Tuesday along with some warmth, particularly on Tuesday. And then it will be March. Yikes. Where did the season go? Nozawa plans to open until early May, so there is a long way to go. Fresh snowfall becomes more and more precious as time goes on... let's appreciating.
