It's not a particularly inspiring morning.


We had some rain yesterday evening and we have has some light rain this morning, though it has eased off now. Some limited visibility out there, especially in higher elevations.


The valiant struggle to remain open as long as possible with the snow melting continues...


Hakuba Cortina were planning on being open until 2nd April, but they are now saying that they might not be able to last that long. The Number 2 and 4 lifts will be open over the weekend, but a decision about what happens beyond that will be made on Monday morning.


The two lower runs to base at Happo-one that remain open are surely not going to last much longer. Even now, they now both officially 'involve some walking'. See the photo below.

ABLE Hakuba Goryu

Official snow depth: Upper: 200cm / Toomi: 45cm

Planned closing date: Sunday 7th May 2023

Notes:

The Toomi base area and top area remain open.

The Iimori area is now closed.

The Alps Number 2/4 lift will be open until 26th March.


Hakuba 47 Winter Sports Park

Official snow depth: Top: 200cm / Base: 65cm

Planned closing date: Sunday 7th May 2023

Notes:

Almost all of Hakuba 47 remain open.

The lower part of R1 and R2 are now being left ungroomed.

The only closed area is Freedom Course and the Tree Riding Zones.


Hakuba Cortina

Official snow depth: 147cm

Planned closing date: Sunday 2nd April 2023

Notes:

Hakuba Cortina remains part open.

7 of 16 courses available.

2 of 6 lifts operating.

The Number 1 pair, Number 3 quad, Number 5 and Number 6 pair lifts have now closed for the season.

The planned closing date is 2nd April, but the snow might not last that long.


Hakuba Happo-one

Official snow depth: Kurobishi (1680m): 210cm / Usagidaira (1400m): 125cm / Nakiyama (800m): 15cm

Planned closing date: Sunday 7th May 2023

Notes:

Hakuba Happo-one remains largely open, though runs down to base are now limited.

Various base lifts have closed for the season (Nakiyama Number 2 pair, Shirakaba Number 1 and 2 pairs, Sakka Number 2 pair and Number 3 triple).

Runs down to base at Nakiyama South via Riesen Slalom and by the Gondola are still officially 'open' (sort of), but some walking is required.

The Usagidaira Kids Park should be opening on weekends from early April.


Hakuba Iwatake Snow Field

Official snow depth: Mountain Side: 90cm / Village Side: 30cm

Planned closing date: Sunday 26th March 2023

Notes:

Hakuba Iwatake is part open.


Hakuba Norikura Onsen

Official snow depth: 110cm

Planned closing date: Sunday 2nd April 2023

Notes:

2 lifts and 2 courses remain open.


Jigatake

Jigatake closed on Thursday 16th March


Kashimayari Skijo Family Park

Kashimayari closed on Tuesday 21st March


Tsugaike Mountain Resort

Official snow depth: Upper: 162cm / Lower: 37cm

Planned closing date: Sunday 7th May 2023

Notes:

Many lower areas are now closed but you can still ride back down to base.

Most upper areas remain open.

The Tsugaike Ropeway will open for spring season on Saturday 1st April.

It plans to be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and 1st-7th May.

A separate ticket is required to ride that lift, and you also need to submit a climbing notification to board.


White Resort Hakuba Sanosaka

Sanosaka closed on Tuesday 21st March
