The latest Naeba Now report can be found here . Excellent news this morning my friends. How does more than 30cm of fresh snowfall sound? :) This fresh snowfall is allowing more of the mountain to open this morning. The resort has the Number 4 quad lift moving and you can also ski/board back down from the upper Takenokodaira area (top of the Number 2 Gondola) down to base. From 10:00am. Great news, though please do remember that it is still limited. The Dragondola is open from today too, though as previously mentioned you need to get a bus over to the base station as those lower areas are not yet open. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here . Morning from Naeba. Great to see some decent snow on the ground again yesterday. Just a little to add what we reported yesterday. And this morning... clear blue skies and sun. It's quite cold early morning, but will be getting mild as the sun gets to work during the day today and tomorrow too. The forecast seems to be showing a decent chance of more snow as well, so we should be ending the season here in Naeba in pretty decent shape. ----------- The Dragondola completed its winter season duties yesterday, and so that means that the lift connection between Naeba and the Tashiro area of the Kagura resort is now closed. Dragondola will be back operating from 20th April until 31st May for spring time 'new green' sightseeing. There was a lot of cloud around this morning but it is clearing up and there is more and more blue sky appearing above us - looks like it is going to be a fine day. Which will be much better than the rather wet and not particularly fine day we had yesterday, though there was some snow falling on the mountain (up at Kagura they are reporting 5cm). It was raining down in Yuzawa town. Snow on Thursday? Let's hope so... they're saying there is a chance. There might be a break in the snow tomorrow along with some sunshine in the morning but beyond that snow is set to continue. The last part of January is shaping up very nicely. Tashiro back open this morning so the resort is pretty much open as normal. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here . Good morning from Naeba. Snow is falling all around us. Children playing, having fun. It's the season for skiing and snowboarding. Oh... maybe the song didn't quite go exactly like that. But it is certainly a morning to be out there with fresh snow on a weekday if you don't mind a bit of wind blowing around as well. The gondola and other lifts may well be on hold because of the wind unfortunately and it does look like Dragondola is on hold too with Tashiro closed. Not a huge amount forecast through tomorrow but snow clouds should still be delivering. Maybe some calmer clearer weather tomorrow but that looks set to be followed up by some nice snow once again from late Sunday and the first part of next week. Bottom line - regular snowfall likely. There is a Niigata Prefecture Junior High School event being held by one of the base courses in front of the Prince hotel and so part is closed off to the general public.
