The latest Naeba Now report can be found here . Good morning from Naeba. The snowstorm calmed down just a bit, bringing 3cm of fresh snow overnight. The morning started pleasantly with no snowfall, good visibility, and promising sunshine, but conditions quickly changed, and we're back to snowfall. The wind isn’t strong, but it’s expected to pick up slightly throughout the day and it supposed to continue snowing. It’s still cold, so the snow quality remains excellent. Despite it being the weekend (and the start of a long weekend at that), the crowd is moderate so far, and there are no lift lines. Gondola 1 and the top lift remain closed, as well as the Kagura top lift. It's a little windy out there this morning and the visibility is not great, but there is some contrast. Because of the soft snow quality, it should be a fine day. Snow is likely to continue - at least on and off - through the weekend. It's unclear how much exactly to expect but I think less than this last week. And then milder temps and clearer skies are due from about Tuesday onwards. All of neighbouring Kagura is closed today. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here . Good morning from Naeba! The snowfall since yesterday is 32cm. It snowed a lot for the first time in quite a while and obviously that has been great to see. The visibility has been limited with a moderate wind. The Tashiro area of Kagura is closed today due to the weather conditions and so Dragondola is also not operating. Status of the top lift is currently unconfirmed but it has not been declared closed. There is some blue sky around now but we are told to expect some more snow during today. Snow is not forecast over the weekend, less wind too, but there's more due to fall in the first half of next week. That sounds like a more normal mid-winter pattern. There is little wind, and the sun is trying to break through the clouds. Visibility is good at the bottom, though more clouds are lingering higher up. Light snow is expected throughout the day, and with a bit of luck, the next couple of days could bring enough snowfall to make a measurable difference. It’s still quite windy at the base, but Gondola 2 is spinning, offering hope that it will open for the crowd that has been lining up since early morning. Also if the official site is to be believe, the top Takenokoyama lift is scheduled to be operating today from 9:30am. Excellent. It’s snowing, with fair visibility at the base, though it seems poor higher up. We’ve received 5cm of fresh snow. It might clear up later, but we wouldn’t mind if it keeps snowing! It is also windy this morning and the gondola and Takenokodaira lifts are on hold because of it. We're basically limited to the lower section of the ski area at the moment. The Dragondola is also closed today due to the Tashiro Area of Kagura being closed. Forecasts indicate sun and calmer weather for tomorrow. Should be good!
