Independent snow and weather reporting from the Geto Kogen region of Iwate

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 428cm

Posted on Saturday 18th January 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Geto Kogen Now report can be found here.

Good morning. It's the weekend again!

And there is just a slight dusting of snow on the ground from overnight (after a fine day)... just about able to add 1cm to my report this morning.

Early on this morning the sun is out and there is blue sky and cloud above us.

It is a cold morning with the resort reporting -10C up top and -8C at base, though I would expect that cold-ness to ease off somewhat

A special sledding event will be held at the resort today over at the chibbiko childrens area and up to 120 people can take part. IF you are interested in taking part, you can sign up from 10:00am (in the Center Dome).

I hope you have a good Saturday.
