I wouldn't call it a "dump", but I did have to do a full de-snowification of my car this morning. Side bar: I love the people who don't clear the snow from their car roofs...and then it slides down onto the windshield later. At this point in the season, all snow contributions are gratefully accepted. We'll need quite a bit more to open the Kitanomine side by the 21st as scheduled. Think snow. Ropeway & D Lift open. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . Good morning skiers and snowboarders, Furano Ski Resort is OPEN! [cue celebratory music] It snowed most of the day yesterday, and more overnight, so things are definitely looking right and proper. Echoing our esteemed Hakuba reporter, things can change awfully fast in the mountains. Always something to keep in mind. More snow scheduled from Dec 3 onward, so hopefully we can get some other runs open. An official opening ceremony was held at the top of the Ropeway, and about 20 fanatics were there who wanted to open the mountain for the season. Think snow. Resort is officially OPEN! Currently only 2 runs from lift D at the top of the Ropeway, but open is open. Can NOT ski to base. Must ride Ropeway back down. More runs to open as snow permits. The latest Furano Now report can be found here . The morning has started off at -4c but the day will end up relatively warm with the high temperature heading up to +2c. The day will be mostly cloudy with some clear weather breaks. Wind conditions are calm with a high breeze on the mountain. The resort is now opening up more terrain as there is definitely plenty of snow coverage. A1 & A2 course are now open and this means that you can now ski from the top of the Ropeway back to base.
